The Best Special Event Reporter/Editor award at the Southeast Journalism Conference is judged on the submission of up to three news or features stories covering a single issue or event unique to a specific campus.

The Best News Graphic Designer Award at the Southeast Journalism Conference goes to a student who has been judged as having the best computer-generated artwork of a news or feature nature.

The Oby T. and Ann C. Brewer Scholarship is awarded to a full time student who is currently taking courses on the Newton Campus of Georgia State University's Perimeter College. Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

Eight Perimeter College students received the Assistance League of Atlanta Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to current Perimeter students who are U.S. citizens with at least a 2.5 GPA and who are active in the community.

The Sofia Romelia Castillo-Adamo scholarship is awarded to current Perimeter College students who are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 grade point average or higher for consideration.

This scholarship was for current Perimeter College students who have completed at least two college-level math courses on the Decatur Campus. Applicants must have a 2.50 GPA or higher to be considered.

The College Journalist of the Year award at the Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC) goes to the first-place winner of the conference's individual "Best of the South" student journalism competition, awarded in Feb. 2017.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

Wil Lutz was named to the Pro-Football Writers Association's (PFWA) All-Rookie Team. PFWA is the official voice of pro football writers, known for promoting and fighting for access to NFL personnel to best serve the public. The PFWA is made up of accredited writers who cover the NFL and the 32 teams daily.
