Five Women's Golfers Named All-American Scholars by WGCA
Five members of the Georgia State women's golf team were honoted by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) as All-American Scholars in early July.

Sara Santamaria Interview and Solo Exhibition
Sara Santamaria's first solo exhibition, "Who comes today and stays tomorrow," opened in June at Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery. It is comprised of sculptural works that address the idea of immigration and tap into themes of memoir, displacement, and identity.

Fulbright Award
The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to build lasting connections between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The Fulbright Program is funded through an annual appropriation made by the U.S. Congress to the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Participating governments and host institutions, corporations, and foundations around the world also provide direct and indirect support to the Program, which operates in over 160 countries worldwide.

Lead Author: Researchers Detect Inflammatory Breast Cancer Hot Spots In U.S.
Lia Scott, a Ph.D. student in epidemiology at Georgia State University's School of Public Health, served as the lead author on a research article about higher-than-average rates of inflammatory breast cancer cases in certain areas of the country.

NAAIA Insurance competition
There was an insurance case study competition that Georgia State Students participated in. I was chosen along with two other students to represent Georgia State. Helping us on this task was the CNA insurance company. With 3 weeks of late nights and meetings both online and in person, we were successful with a win! We won a summer 2017 internship with Chubb and $500 each.

Victoria Nwobodo named Cotterman Outstanding Student
Victoria Nwobodo was named Cotterman Outstanding Student at the 2015 Robinson College of Business Honors Day Celebration. Each year, the Computer Information Systems Department honors the graduate student in the MS-CIS program with the most outstanding academic record. The award is named for William C. Cotterman, the first chairman of the CIS Department at Georgia State University.
