Georgia State University College of Law 2023-2024 Moot Court Board
Each year, the Georiga State University College of Law Moot Court Competition Team competes in several of the most challenging and prestigious moot court competitions throughout the country to hone their appellate advocacy skills. The student organization of award-winning advocates consists of approximately 50 second-year and third-year members among the College's 650 full-time and part-time students, who are guided by the Moot Court Board.

Student Trial Lawyers Association
Georgia State University College of Law extends its congratulations to the newest mock trial team of the Student Trial Lawyers Association for the 2023-2024 academic year. This signifies STLA's commitment to providing students with real courtroom experience, facilitated by professional attorneys and participation in national competitions, bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical legal skills. Notably, many graduates who have been part of STLA go on to successful careers as litigators and district attorneys. In 2020, Georgia State University achieved a remarkable 21st ranking in the U.S. News & World Report for its outstanding Trial Advocacy Programs. This recognition is well-deserved, as the Student Trial Lawyers Association has a proven track record of excellence, boasting an impressive record of 16 national championships, 15 regional championships, and seven second-place finishes in national competitions.

Georgia State University Graduate Student Receives Philosophy Essay Award
The award is given annually to the undergraduate student who submits the best essay to the Jean Beer Blumenfeld Center for Ethics essay contest. The award was established with the support of Katherine B. Moore in memory of her son. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Sealey-Woodard, of Acworth, is a master's degree student in Anthropology in the College of Arts & Sciences. Sealey-Woodard's paper was nominated for an honorable mention out of eleven submissions in the Department of Anthropology's Annual Outstanding Graduate Research Paper competition. The research papers are judged on originality and contribution to the discipline. Frantz Fanon Book Award
Fariha Hossain, a senior studying English at Georgia State University, was awarded the Frantz Fanon Book Award. Thanks to an anonymous donor, the English Department awards five annual scholarships designed to support the purchase of books for the following year. The award honors the spirit and legacy of Frantz Fanon-a writer, philosopher, and revolutionary whose work continues to shape contemporary studies in literature, culture, and politics. The scholarship celebrates Georgia State University's students of African-American origin, but students of all ethnicities are invited to apply.

Dani Davis, a senior biology major, is the winner of the Spring 2020 Honors Thesis Pitch at Georgia State University. Davis' presentation, "Conservation of the World's Most Ancient Flowering Plant Through Cryopreservation," highlighted her undergraduate project in which she is developing a long-term seed storage protocol for plant species. Georgia State Students Sweep Elevator Pitch Competition
Georgia State students flexed their entrepreneurial muscles taking first, second, third and honorable mentions at a recent pitch competition hosted at Clayton State University. Kenneth Wright, led the way pitching his product KleanCollar, an innovative fashion accessory designed to keep your collared shirts from getting the dreaded dirt ring. Wright's pitch earned him a first place finish. Psychology Major and Entrepreneurship Minor Robert Hatcher took home second place pitching SoundCollide, a platform that allows musicians to collaborate together live and remotely. Hospitality graduate student Chris Walker placed third with a pitch for an original idea. ENI student, Nephthaly Leonidas rounded out the pack by earning honorable mentions for a pitch of the platform Social Square.
