Excellence in Mathematics Teaching Award

Nia Coates received the Excellence in Mathematics Teaching Award from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. Established by Hiram and Barbara Johnston, both of whom had long careers in the College of Education & Human Development, this award is given to an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in mathematics education who demonstrates academic excellence.

Georgia State University student Jessica Pinal has been awarded the Roberta Gose Kelley Undergraduate Scholarship in Arts and Sciences. Pinal, of Stone Mountain, is a biological science major in the College of Arts & Sciences. The scholarship was established in memory of and to honor Roberta Gose Kelley and her commitment and dedication to public education in the state of Georgia. This scholarship is granted to an undergraduate student at the junior or senior level with demonstrated financial need and in good academic standing who may be pursuing any degree in the College. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.
