Nia Coates received the Excellence in Mathematics Teaching Award from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. Established by Hiram and Barbara Johnston, both of whom had long careers in the College of Education & Human Development, this award is given to an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in mathematics education who demonstrates academic excellence.

Georgia State University student Jessica Pinal has been awarded the Roberta Gose Kelley Undergraduate Scholarship in Arts and Sciences. Pinal, of Stone Mountain, is a biological science major in the College of Arts & Sciences. The scholarship was established in memory of and to honor Roberta Gose Kelley and her commitment and dedication to public education in the state of Georgia. This scholarship is granted to an undergraduate student at the junior or senior level with demonstrated financial need and in good academic standing who may be pursuing any degree in the College. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Jared Grigsby received the Master of Education in Mathematics Education Award from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. This award, established by Gloria Kittel, supports a student preparing to teach middle school mathematics and who is currently pursuing a master of education in mathematics education degree in the College of Education & Human Development.

Georgia State University student Nebechi Okpala has been awarded the Cooley Scholarship in the Sciences. The award goes to a full-time undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 grade-point average and demonstrated financial need. The recipient must be majoring in science, math, or one of the other STEM fields.

Georgia State University student Josemaria Garcia has been awarded the Cooley Scholarship in the Sciences. This award is presented to high-achieving students who demonstrate financial need and have declared their major in the natural sciences. The student must be majoring in biology, physics, and astronomy, chemistry, or geosciences and demonstrate outstanding academic performance.

Ania Howard received the Jerry Robbins Endowed Scholarship in Mathematics from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. Jerry Robbins has devoted his professional life to the preparation of teachers. During his career at Georgia State, he was a member of the faculty and served as dean. This award honors a student majoring and excelling in mathematics with a focus in teacher preparation.

Georgia State University student Mikayla Oberlton has been awarded the African-American Alumni Club Scholarship. This scholarship provides support for tuition, fees, books and/or other expenses to undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Recipients must be in good academic standing, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, have demonstrated financial need and have performed significant community service.

Georgia State University student Aliyah Berry has been awarded the Bruschini Scholarship for Community Service Involvement. This scholarship provides support to undergraduate students who are actively engaged in community service through public service or volunteer work with a non-profit faith-based organization or community group.

Udokang, of Auburn, is a political science major student in the College of Arts & Sciences. This scholarship provides support for tuition, fees, books and/or other expenses to undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Recipients must be in good academic standing, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, have demonstrated financial need and have performed significant community service.

Georgia State University student Hannah Lomax has been awarded the Undergraduate Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for her work in the field of African-American Studies. Lomax, of Smyrna, is majoring in African American Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences.

The Lucille Adams Scholarship is awarded to rising seniors in the Department of African-American Studies at Georgia State who have unmet financial need and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in African-American Studies coursework. Students are selected based on their service to their community, campus and to the Department of African-American Studies.

Georgia State University student Aliyah Winfrey has been awarded the Graduate Outstanding Academic Achievement & Service Award for her work and service in the field of African-American Studies.

Georgia State University student Paula Gomez has received the William G. Nolan Memorial Scholarship Award. The scholarship, offered in memory of former Georgia State Associate Professor of Biology William G. Nolan, is awarded to students who demonstrate leadership and good citizenship while exceeding academic expectations.

The Beverly J. Armento Endowed Doctoral Award from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development honors Beverly J. Armento, a research professor of social studies education, who served on the CEHD faculty from 1975-2003. Realizing the power of the individual teacher, Armento committed her career to the preparation of exemplary teachers - ones who believe in the power of each child to be successful in their lives. This award supports doctoral students in middle and secondary education.

Georgia State University student Marilyn Millett has received the Donald Ahearn Fellowship in Applied and Environmental Microbiology. The Donald Ahearn Fellowship in Applied and Environmental Microbiology is awarded to students who are selected by the Biology Department Awards Committee based on merit. The fellowship provides support for scholarly activities and teaching, research, service and administrative activities of the Program in Applied and Environmental Microbiology.

Georgia State University student Andrew Ho has received the Steven Kudravi Memorial Award for his exceptional work as a graduate teaching assistant. The Steven Kudravi Memorial Award is awarded to graduate teaching assistants who demonstrate excellence as an instructor and a constant motivation to improve their teaching and learning experience.

Georgia State University student Rainer Pacheco has received a scholarship from the Kevin M. Brady Endowed Scholarship Fund in Biology. The Kevin M. Brady Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in the Pre-Med/Pre-Health concentration program. To be considered for the award, students must be in good academic standing, be a top performing student and have a demonstrated financial need.

This award is given to a graduating senior who demonstrates a commitment to research, evidence of critical thinking skills, and a strong potential in nutrition research.

The Donald Ahearn Fellowship in Applied and Environmental Microbiology is awarded to students who are selected by the Biology Department Awards Committee based on merit. The fellowship provides support for scholarly activities and teaching, research, service and administrative activities of the Program in Applied and Environmental Microbiology.

This national honor society, established by the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy, recognizes Doctor of Physical Therapy students in their last year of PT school, who have demonstrated excellence, integrity and professionalism in the areas of academic achievement, leadership, service or research, and have demonstrated strong moral character, ethics and the core values of PT profession.

Georgia State University student Mohammad Pabel Kabir has earned the Harry P. Hopkins Jr. Memorial Scholarship in Physical Chemistry. This endowment was established to honor the legacy of Harry P. Hopkins, Jr. and his interest in physical chemistry and supports a scholarship for graduate-level students.

Georgia State University student Nourhan Mansour has received the Robert "Pete" Pullen Jr. Scholarship in Analytical Chemistry. The award provides scholarships to M.S. and/or Ph.D. level students who are pursuing or intend to pursue a degree in chemistry with a specialization in analytical chemistry within the College of Arts & Sciences.

Georgia State University student Tomaya Carpenter has received the David W. Boykin Graduate Fellowship in Medicinal Chemistry. The Boykin Fellowship was established in 1999 to honor the former chair of the Department of Chemistry, David W. Boykin. It is awarded to an outstanding Ph.D. graduate student in medicinal chemistry. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

The Lambda Beta National Honor Society was formed in 1986 to promote, recognize and honor scholarship, scholarly achievement, service, and character of students, graduates, and faculty members of the profession.

Georgia State University student Kyle Hardy has earned the Chemistry Undergraduate Gold Award. Hardy, of Jackson, graduated from Georgia State University in Fall 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the College of Arts & Sciences. The Chemistry Undergraduate Gold Award is awarded to undergraduate students based on the research they have presented.

This scholarship, established by the GSU Physical Therapy alumni, supports physical therapy students who demonstrate promise of becoming an excellent professional in the future.

This award is given to graduating students with a grade point average of 4.0 in the physical therapy program.

Georgia State University Mi-Tien Lee has earned the Bradford Scott Beerman Memorial Scholarship in Chemistry. The scholarship is awarded to students in memory of Bradford Scott Beerman, who graduated from Georgia State with a degree in Chemistry.
