The research papers are judged on originality and contribution to the discipline. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Yuqi Chen received the Lorene C. Pilcher Scholarship Fund from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. Lorene Pilcher, who was appointed the first research professor in the former College of Education by the Board of Regents, established this award to support an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in early childhood education who has a desire to become a teacher and demonstrates a passion for enhancing the lives of children.

Georgia State University student Amelia Phan has been selected as the winner of the 2021 Outstanding Graduate Research Paper in Anthropology. Phan's paper was selected out of eleven submissions in the Department of Anthropology's Annual Outstanding Graduate Research Paper competition. The research papers are judged on originality and contribution to the discipline.
