Yuqi Chen received the Lorene C. Pilcher Scholarship Fund from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. Lorene Pilcher, who was appointed the first research professor in the former College of Education by the Board of Regents, established this award to support an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in early childhood education who has a desire to become a teacher and demonstrates a passion for enhancing the lives of children.

Phan's paper was selected out of eleven submissions in the Department of Anthropology's Annual Outstanding Graduate Research Paper competition. The research papers are judged on originality and contribution to the discipline.

Georgia State University student Victoria Young has been awarded the Robert L. Blakely Scholarship in Anthropology. The Robert L. Blakely Scholarship is offered to seniors majoring in Anthropology who show leadership potential in the field. Students are selected by faculty members to receive the scholarship based on academic achievement. The scholarship is awarded to students in memory of Dr. Robert Blakely's contribution to anthropological education as an associate professor at Georgia State.

The Jeremy Gillen Endowed Memorial Scholarship is offered to seniors majoring in Anthropology who show leadership potential in the field.
