Georgia State University student Xiaonan Deng has earned the Ambrose H. Pendergrast Fellowship in Chemistry. The Pendergrast Fellowship is awarded to an outstanding doctoral student in medicinal chemistry or biochemistry in honor of former Georgia State chemistry professor Ambrose Pendergrast.

Georgia State University student Chakravarthy Garlapati has been awarded the Cellular & Molecular Biology & Physiology Award for excellent work in the field. Garlapati works in the Department of Biology at Georgia State and is involved in molecular biology, cell biology and cancer research. Garlapati is also working on a research project titled "Discovery of Molecular Signature Responsible for TNBC Racial Disparity in AA vs EA."

The Deshpande Rau Award promotes academic excellence in respiratory therapy by recognizing students who show strong academic promise and demonstrate leadership qualities. The award was created in 2020 by retired RT department chair Joe Rau and retired RT faculty member Vijay Deshpande.

The Respiratory Therapy Student Service Award is presented to a graduating respiratory therapy student or students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a willingness to provide service to the department's outreach efforts.

This award, established in memory of James Ancil Lewis, honors his exemplary work in respiratory therapy: from his graduation in 1973 until his death in 1992. Torressa Smith received the Adell Street Adams Memorial Scholarship from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development (CEHD) as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. Vivian Street established this scholarship in memory of her sister, College of Education & Human Development alumnus and celebrated high school chemistry teacher Adell Street Adams. This scholarship supports an exceptional CEHD student pursuing a degree in science education.

The late Dr. Eli A. Zubay co-founded Georgia State University's Actuarial Science Program in 1958. This award recognizes academic excellence and is presented annually to the undergraduate actuarial science major with the highest overall grade-point average. Recipients must have accumulated at least 60, but no more than 90 semester credit hours, and must have completed at least 12 semester credit hours of actuarial science coursework with no grade lower than a "B."

During the course of a year, approximately one-third of the College's Ph.D. students teach one or more course sections as Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs).
