Sealey-Woodard's paper was nominated for an honorable mention out of eleven submissions in the Department of Anthropology's Annual Outstanding Graduate Research Paper competition. The research papers are judged on originality and contribution to the discipline. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Yuqi Chen received the Lorene C. Pilcher Scholarship Fund from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. Lorene Pilcher, who was appointed the first research professor in the former College of Education by the Board of Regents, established this award to support an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in early childhood education who has a desire to become a teacher and demonstrates a passion for enhancing the lives of children.

Tayler Murray received the Keinon Bennett Early Career Teaching Award from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Honors Day celebration. Blakely Scholarship is offered to seniors majoring in Anthropology who show leadership potential in the field. Students are selected by faculty members to receive the scholarship based on academic achievement. The scholarship is awarded to students in memory of Dr. Robert Blakely's contribution to anthropological education as an associate professor at Georgia State.

Georgia State University student Demetrius Williamston has been awarded the Lawrence J. Rifkind Scholarship in Speech Communications.This scholarship was created to honor Dr. Rifkind and the positive difference that he has made in the lives of students. Awards from the scholarship provide financial support to select students majoring in Speech Communications, Dr. Rifkind's academic area of specialization.
