Georgia State Student Kyra Sheppard Receives Speech Communication Scholarship

Georgia State University student Kyra Sheppard recently received the Lawrence J. Rifkind Scholarship in Speech. Sheppard, of Atlanta, is a Bachelor's student in Communication in the College of Arts and Sciences. This scholarship was created to honor Dr. Rifkind and the positive difference that he has made in the lives of students. It provides financial support to students majoring in Speech Communication, Dr. Rifkind's academic area of specialization. The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skill-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Alpha Eta National Honor Society in Health Professions

The Alpha Eta National Honor Society promotes and recognizes significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Baccalaureate degree candidates who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for induction. The Alpha Eta motto is "Together We Serve" to represent all of the allied health professions. Georgia State University became a founding member of Alpha Eta in March 1975.

Students are selected based on their service to their community, campus and to the department.
