Georgia State University student Chris Palma recently received the Theresa Nash Bernstein Scholarship in International Travel. Palma, of Hapeville, is a Bachelor's student in Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Theresa Nash Bernstein Scholarship in International Travel was established to allow an excellent undergraduate or graduate student to conduct research overseas. The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skill-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Georgia State University student Victoria Wilder recently received the Psychology Grace Study Abroad Scholarship. Wilder, of Dallas, Ga., is a Bachelor's student in Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Psychology Grace Award is a $1,000 scholarship award for Psychology majors studying abroad during the spring semester. The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skill-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

The Alpha Eta National Honor Society promotes and recognizes significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Baccalaureate degree candidates who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for induction. The Alpha Eta motto is "Together We Serve" to represent all of the allied health professions. Georgia State University became a founding member of Alpha Eta in March 1975.

The Nursing Student Service Award recognizes undergraduate students for outstanding service, demonstrating exemplary performance and distinctive contributions to the university, School of Nursing, community and the nursing profession.

Georgia State University student Graciela Cain recently received the Lucille Adams Scholarship in African American Studies. Cain, of Decatur, is a Bachelor's student in Africana Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Lucille Adams Scholarship is awarded to rising seniors in the department who have unmet financial need and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in Africana Studies coursework. Students are selected based on their service to their community, campus and to the department. The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skill-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Georgia State University student Rachael Mayhew recently received the Best Overall University Scholar Award from the Department of Chemistry. Mayhew, of Newnan, is a Bachelor's student in Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Lambda Beta National Honor Society was formed in 1986 to promote, recognize and honor scholarship, scholarly achievement, service, and character of students, graduates, and faculty members of the profession.

This award recognizes an outstanding bachelor of science dental hygiene student who has demonstrated academic achievement and strong leadership skills.

This scholarship recognizes a second year physical therapy student who has strong academic standing and displays leadership potential.

Georgia State University student Abby Robbertz recently received the Psychology Department Graduate Award. Robbertz, of New Albany, Ohio, is a Ph.D. student in Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Deshpande Rau Award promotes academic excellence in respiratory therapy by recognizing students who show strong academic promise and demonstrate leadership qualities. The award was created in 2020 by retired RT department chair Joe Rau and retired RT faculty member Vijay Deshpande.

This scholarship was established in memory of Daniel Sansone, son of Joseph Sansone, founder and CEO of Pediatria Healthcare, LLC and former advisory board member of the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions. The Daniel J. Sansone Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student interested in pediatric nursing or respiratory therapy.

This award is given by the faculty to graduating seniors and master's candidates. The award recognizes students who have displayed outstanding performance in clinical rotations.

The Faculty Recognition Award is presented to graduating respiratory therapy students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a positive professional attitude and a willingness to serve the needs of classmates, the community, and the profession of respiratory therapy.

This award is given to the individual in the Department of Physical Therapy who provides ongoing, dynamic leadership and guidance to his or her class.

This award recognizes a graduating Respiratory Therapy student or students with the highest GPA achieved in the respiratory therapy progam.

This award, established in memory of James Ancil Lewis, honors his exemplary work in respiratory therapy: from his graduation in 1973 until his death in 1992. This award is given to a junior(s) in the program who exemplifies Mr. Lewis' characteristics of service to others, particularly in clinical work and direct patient care.

The Professional Merit Award is presented to the student or students who has/have most actively participated in professional activities within the community and who demonstrates high standards of professionalism.

This award recognizes the students who have made an outstanding contribution to the research efforts of the Department of Physical Therapy and who exhibit potential of becoming significant contributors to the field of physical therapy research.

In memory of Dr. Virgil Jacobs, former anatomist in the physical therapy program, this award is given to the student who best exemplifies the qualities of intelligence, compassion, fairness, honesty, and sincerity in addition to outstanding scholarly anatomical competence.

This national honor society, established by the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy, recognizes Doctor of Physical Therapy students in their last year of PT school, who have demonstrated excellence, integrity and professionalism in the areas of academic achievement, leadership, service or research, and have demonstrated strong moral character, ethics and the core values of PT profession.

The national honor society for occupational therapy recognizes students for their scholastic excellence and contributions to the advancement of the occupational therapy field.

The Graduate Nursing Student Service Award recognizes a student for outstanding service as the student representative to the Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

The Gordon Seagraves Cummings Scholarship/Award recognizes individuals who are both critical thinkers and caring, competent practitioners -- characteristics personified by Professor Gordon Cummings.

The Grady Scholars is a scholarship awarded to undergraduate nursing students who have committed to serving the Atlanta community by practicing at Grady Hospital following graduation.

The Keystone Award is given to a student or students who, through example, maintain the structure and integrity of the class. Awardees demonstrate a strong commitment to the physical therapy profession, are avid patient advocates, and are respected by faculty and peers.

Georgia State University student Sakinah Muhammed-Worsham recently received the Drs. Kennedy and Nettey Premedical Award. Muhammed-Worsham, of Peachtree City, is a Bachelor's student in Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences. This award was established to alleviate financial barriers for students at Georgia State University applying to medical school programs by assisting with funding for admissions test preparation materials. The Occupational Therapy Research Excellence Award goes to the student(s) who makes (made) outstanding contribution to the research efforts of the department and exhibit potential to become a significant contributor in the field of occupational therapy research.

The Occupational Therapy Academic Excellence Award is given to a graduating second year student with a GPA of 4.0 in the occupational therapy program who also exhibits overall academic excellence.
