Counselor education and practice doctoral student Alec Prince was selected as a Fellow for Chi Sigma Iota's 2025-2026 Leadership Fellowship and Internship Program.

Nearly 600 Georgia State University students participated in the institution's 2025 MLK Day of Service, in honor of the vision and legacy of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. They volunteered for projects serving seniors, youth, people who are unhoused, members of the military, and other members of the greater community.

Georgia State University student Erreannau Zellous recently received the Carol Rowe-Jones and Waymon Jones Scholarship Endowment. This scholarship supports outstanding gerontology students (undergraduate & graduate) and may be used for tuition, books, room, board, and other associated expenses.

Georgia State University student Josephine Boateng recently received the Gerontology Alumni Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship supports undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Gerontology Institute.

Georgia State University student Markelle Worrell recently received the Cooley Scholarship in the Sciences. The scholarship is given to students with good academic standing with outstanding performance and demonstrated financial need. The recipient must be majoring in either biology, physics and astronomy, chemistry or geosciences.

Georgia State University student Kierra Martin recently received the The Lee Project Endowed Scholarship. The Lee Project Endowed Scholarship was established by Allison Webb in memory of Lee Lowery III. Lee was a sophomore at Georgia State University and graduated from Grady High School where he was a scholar athlete. This scholarship is given to a high achieving student who has experienced a form of adversity or tragedy, and must have also graduated from a Georgia public high school with preference given to graduates from Grady High School.

Georgia State University student Monae Haywood recently received the Goodale Family Scholarship in International Study. The Goodale Family Scholarship in International Study recognizes international studies students who are traveling to study or conduct research in a country they have never visited.

The Roberta Gose Kelley Undergraduate Scholarship in the Sciences was established in memory of and to honor Roberta Gose Kelley and her commitment and dedication to public education in the state of Georgia. This scholarship is available to undergraduate students at the junior or senior level with demonstrated financial need.

Georgia State University student Gabby Heard recently received the Bruschini Scholarship for Community Service Involvement. This scholarship provides support to undergraduate students who are actively engaged in community service through public service or volunteer work with a nonprofit, faith-based organization or community group. Recipients must be in good academic standing, have demonstrated financial need, and document community service involvement and volunteer activities.

The Eleanor McEdwards International Opportunity Scholarship is a study abroad scholarship awarded annually to an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in the College . The scholarship was established by Colleen McEdwards and Scott Burnside in honor of her mother, Eleanor McEdwards, who was dedicated to creating and promoting opportunities for international travel and study among young people.

The Fred Massey Endowed Scholarship was created to honor Fred Massey, professor emeritus and former chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Georgia State.

Georgia State University student Qinyi Lou recently received the Friedrich William Ralf Munster Fellowship in Philosophy. The fellowship, named for former Philosophy Chair Ralf Munster, provides support for graduate students in the Department of Philosophy based on academic excellence.

Georgia State University student Mohammad Ghane recently received the Kenneth W. and Georganne F. Honeycutt Fellowship. The Kenneth W. and Georganne F. Honeycutt Fellowship provides fellowships for students in the doctoral program in the Neuroscience Institute at Georgia State. Students who have successfully passed the Neuroscience Doctoral Programs qualifying exam and are ready to advance to their dissertation are eligible to receive the fellowship for up to three years.

Georgia State University student Alexandra Sandeva recently received the Loula Cantrell Scholarship. The Loula Cantrell Scholarship was created to financially support undergraduate students majoring in history or political science. To be eligible, students must be rising seniors at the time of application.

Blakely scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student who shows strong potential in the field of anthropology in memory of Blakely, a former Georgia State anthropology professor, and his contribution to anthropological education.

Georgia State University student Ruoyu Yang recently received the Robert "Pete" Pullen Family Scholarship in Analytical Chemistry. The Robert "Pete" Pullen Family Scholarship in Analytical Chemistry was established to ease the financial burden for students interested in pursuing graduate degrees in analytical chemistry at Georgia State. This fund supports masters or doctoral-level candidates, and recipients exhibit exceptional academic and individual achievements as well as financial need.

My Brother's Keeper at Georgia State University served the community at the Center Helping Obesity In Children End Successfully (C.H.O.I.C.E.S.) 6th Annual Thanksgiving Mobile Food Pantry on Nov. 19, 2022, supporting the distribution of hundreds of meals to metro Atlanta families during the holiday season.

Georgia State University student Jazanae Reid recently received the Henry T. Malone Scholarship in History. The Henry Thompson Malone Memorial Scholarship in History is awarded to a history major with an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Georgia State University student Hodari James recently visited and volunteered at Carver Road Middle School. James, of Montego Bay, Jamaica, is a Ph.D. student in Astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences. James presented on careers in astronomy and led an astrobiology activity for four groups of 30 students, with about 140 attendees. He enjoyed the experience, and said because "Carver serves predominantly Black, Brown, and low-income students, it is crucial to expose them to STEM careers at an early age." The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skill-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

A group of dental hygiene students from Georgia State University's Perimeter College provided dental sealants and fluoride to third- and fourth-graders in south Georgia's Turner County recently, thanks to a collaborative effort between the college's Dental Hygiene program and local school and health officials.
