Georgia State University student Kierra Martin recently received the The Lee Project Endowed Scholarship. The Lee Project Endowed Scholarship was established by Allison Webb in memory of Lee Lowery III. Lee was a sophomore at Georgia State University and graduated from Grady High School where he was a scholar athlete. This scholarship is given to a high achieving student who has experienced a form of adversity or tragedy, and must have also graduated from a Georgia public high school with preference given to graduates from Grady High School.

Georgia State University student Mohammad Ghane recently received the Kenneth W. and Georganne F. Honeycutt Fellowship. The Kenneth W. and Georganne F. Honeycutt Fellowship provides fellowships for students in the doctoral program in the Neuroscience Institute at Georgia State. Students who have successfully passed the Neuroscience Doctoral Programs qualifying exam and are ready to advance to their dissertation are eligible to receive the fellowship for up to three years.

Georgia State Student Hodari James Helps Teach Young Students About Astronomy
Georgia State University student Hodari James recently visited and volunteered at Carver Road Middle School. James, of Montego Bay, Jamaica, is a Ph.D. student in Astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences. James presented on careers in astronomy and led an astrobiology activity for four groups of 30 students, with about 140 attendees. He enjoyed the experience, and said because "Carver serves predominantly Black, Brown, and low-income students, it is crucial to expose them to STEM careers at an early age." The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skill-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.
