Georgia State University

Georgia State Law's Class of 2015 included 166 graduates from full-time and part-time programs. Among them, 58 graduated with pro bono distinction, donating nearly 14,000 hours of legal counsel and service. Nearly 60 graduated with academic honors. This marks the college's 31st commencement and hooding ceremony.

The Gerontology Alumni Endowed Scholarship is awarded to two entering graduate students. The scholarship is funded by the Gerontology Alumni Club.

The Mary M. Mackinnon Endowed Scholarship in Gerontology is awarded to undergraduate and or graduate students who demonstrate a passion for the aging community. The scholarship is in memory of Georgia State University alumna and former staff member Mary MacKinnon.

The Best Graduate Teaching Assistant Award is given to students for outstanding leadership, service and teaching as a teaching assistant.

TRISPRO Scholarship is given to an outstanding student in theater or music. This scholarship was established by the players, singers, musicians, spouses and friends of TRISPRO Inc.

The Vicki York Fair Award is awarded to the Communications Department's most outstanding public relations major.

The Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award in Computer Science recognizes a graduate student for outstanding teaching and service to the Computer Science Department.

The Ethel Illges Woodruff Fellowship in Southern History is awarded to a graduate student who intends to pursue the masters program with a concentration in southern history.

The Jenny Thurston Fellowship and Award in Heritage Preservation is an annual award and internship with the Atlanta Urban Design Commission. The fellowship is given to an outstanding historic preservationist in Atlanta.

The Ethel Illges Woodruff Fellowship in Southern History is awarded to a graduate student who intends to pursue the masters program with a concentration in southern history.

The Harold V. & Anna Marie Little Scholarship honors an outstanding entering or first-year gerontology master's degree student. The award is in honor of Harold V. Little and in memory of Anna Marie Little.

The Robert H. Hankla Endowment Award supports outstanding senior level, undergraduate physics students. The award honors Robert Hankla, an associate professor of physics and astronomy for 30 years at Georgia State University.

The Ralf F. Munster Fellowship is given to an outstanding philosophy graduate student. The award honors Ralf F. Munster, philosophy chair from 1955 to 1976.

The Orbun Troy Moore III Undergraduate Ethics Essay Contest Award is given to the author of the strongest essay on a topic of ethical importance.

The Arlene and Alvin Altman Scholarship is awarded to a philosophy major who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement and economic need. The award is given for a two-year period.

The Sally Monsour Graduate Fellowship in Music Education recognizes a music education graduate student. The fellowship was created in honor of Dr. Sally Monsour, one of the founding professors of music education in the School of Music.

The Thomas M. Brumby Scholarship is awarded annually to a junior or senior majoring in music with a concentration in piano or organ. The award was created in memory of Thomas M. Brumby, the prime builder of the School of Music at Georgia State.

The Steve Winick Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior student who shows outstanding talent on a brass instruments and performs in at least two School of Music instrumental ensembles.

The Sam Wallace Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to students in the music industry program of the School of Music. Friends of the late Sam Wallace, an outstanding music industry executive and citizen of Atlanta, established the scholarship.

The Robert Farrington Clayton, Jr., Memorial Scholarship supports full-time music students who excel academically, exhibit financial need and possess strong personal moral character.

The Peter Harrower Scholarship in Voice is awarded annually to a music student who shows exceptional voice talent and outstanding academic achievement. The scholarship was established in 1988 by the Harrower family and friends.

The Montgomery Music Scholarship is awarded to students in the School of Music. The scholarship was established in 1985 by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Montgomery.

The Lucile Allen Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a music theory or composition major who demonstrates a high standard of excellence.

The John Demos Memorial Scholarship recognizes a junior, senior or incoming transfer student at the sophomore level or higher who demonstrates outstanding talent on a woodwind instrument and performs in two or more School of Music instrumental ensembles.

The Florence Kopleff Vocal Scholarship recognizes music majors who have demonstrated exceptional vocal talent. The award was established in 1998 by Florence Kopleff and friends.

The Haskell and Mabel Boyter Choral Scholarship is awarded annually to a junior or senior who demonstrates outstanding achievement and leadership in choral music.

The Alfredo Barili Scholarship is awarded to School of Music students who demonstrate exceptional talent on a string instrument. The award is in honor of Atlanta music pioneer, Alfredo Barili.

The Donald S. Gingrich Scholarship is awarded to a senior or graduate student majoring in music education who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement and shows a commitment to music education. The award was established in 2006 by Donald S. Gingrich, a retired music education professor in the Georgia State University School of Music.

The Charles T. Wurm Scholarship is awarded to a music major whose music ability and talents meet the current needs of the School of Music. The scholarship was endowed in 1985.

The Bobby Bailey Music Industry Scholarship recognizes students in the commercial music/recording program. The scholarship was created by Bobbie Bailey and the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS).
