The Dan E. Sweat Dissertation Fellowship supports doctoral students in completing dissertation research that addresses an urban, community or education issue and has policy relevance. It was established in honor of civic leader and Georgia State alumnus Dan E. Sweat.

The University Fellows honor was established by Georgia State University to support doctoral students engaged in the research of faculty recruited to join the Andrew Young School under the Second Century Initiative. The fellowship is awarded to outstanding students pursuing a Ph.D. in economics, public policy or criminal justice and criminology.

The 1913 Excellence in Scholarship Award is presented to the member of the 1913 Society with the highest GPA.

The Rising Star award honors a 1913 Society member who has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills with only one year of service in The 1913 Society.

Ph.D. student Kate Guastaferro successfully defended her dissertation on child maltreatment prevention this semester.

The Silver Shield award honors a 1913 Society member who exemplifies the organization's "service without self" motto while maintaining academic excellence, campus involvement and, above all, humility. It is The 1913 Society's highest honor.

This acheivement is presented to the students who embarked on an international education experience with Georgia State University in Spring 2016!

This scholarship provides opportunities to deserving students by offering substantial award amounts of up to $5,000 for Maymester or Summer programs, $7,500 for Fall or Spring semesters abroad, and $15,000 for an Academic Year, depending on financial need and program costs.

PhD student Na'Taki Osborne Jelks successfully defended her dissertation this semester on the environmental health of the Proctor Creek Watershed.

Established through the generosity of The Coca-Cola Foundation in honor of Ambassador Andrew Young, the Dean's Fellowship is awarded annually to an outstanding student or students pursuing a doctoral degree in the Andrew Young School.
