Five students were celebrated at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University for receiving this fellowship in 2015-2016. It was established by R. Charles Loudermilk, Sr., to honor the life and legacy of Jean Childs Young by providing fellowships for graduate students in the Andrew Young School.

Each year, the Georgia State University Honors College awards a variety of scholarships to current students. This year, the Honors College awarded scholarships to sixteen exemplary students.

Georgia State University Honors College junior Stephanie Ekey of Reisterstown, Maryland has been accepted to the University of Washington Medical School's Department of Neurological Summer Surgery Student Program providing exposure from "Bench to Bedside" exposure in the field of neurosciences.

Andy Andy Alcalá, a Georgia State University Honors College student, has been awarded a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study Arabic in Madaba, Jordan.

The 1913 Society - a student ambassador program established by the Office of the President - provides an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students to serve as official hosts and goodwill ambassadors for the university.

The Honors College Ambassadors corps is composed of a diverse and dedicated group of outstanding Honors College students who desire to hone their leadership skills, while also contributing to the Honors College legacy. These student leaders serve as representatives of the Honors College at a variety of internal and external events.
