Lewis School Graduate Research Conference 2nd Place

The Lewis School Graduate Research Conference, which is sponsored by the Lewis School Office of Research, provides graduate students in nursing, nutrition, physical therapy, and respiratory the opportunity to exhibit their research in a poster presentation to colleagues in the university. First and second place are selected by a panel of judges from disciplines across the university.

Alpha Eta National Honor Society in Health Professions

This honor society promotes and recognizes the significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Baccalaureate degree candidates who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for induction. The Alpha Eta motto is "Together We Serve" to represent all of the allied health professions. Georgia State University became a founding member of the Alpha Eta in March 1975.

Daniel J. Sansone Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Daniel Sansone, son of Joseph Sansone, founder and CEO of Pediatria Healthcare, LLC and former Lewis School advisory board member. The Daniel J. Sansone Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student interested in pediatric nursing or respiratory therapy.

This award was established in memory of Merle Lott, who was Director of Nursing for the DeKalb County Health Department and a dedicated public health nurse in Georgia for over 30 years. Byrdine F. Lewis Clinical Practice Scholarship

This award was established to honor Mrs. Byrdine F. Lewis for whom the Georgia State University School of Nursing was named in 2003. Throughout her nursing career, Mrs. Lewis exemplified a dedication to clinical practice and quality patient care. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate nursing students who have a strong academic record and who are committed to clinical practice in a hospital setting.

Shared by the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies' Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology and the School of Social Work, this merit-based scholarship is presented annually to a rising junior or senior majoring in each area. It was established by the Georgia Council of Juvenile Court Judges in memory of Chris Perrin, executive director of the council and an alumnus of Georgia State University.
