Given to a student in special education for genuine caring and involvement with individuals with an intellectual disability that demonstrates an exceptional level of commitment. The recipient of this award will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

In honor of the late Dr. Marie C. Keel, associate professor in the former Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education, and presented to an individual for excellence in supervision or mentoring of a student majoring in educational psychology or special education.

In recognition of outstanding scholarship, teaching and/or and service in the communication sciences and disorders doctoral degree program.

The JoAnna F. White Play Therapy Scholarship is presented to a graduate student in good standing in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services who is dedicated to the study and clinical practice of play therapy. The recipient receives a $1,000 scholarship.

The Chet W. Harris Scholarship to awarded to doctoral students in recognition of teaching, mentoring and modeling with care and compassion. The recipients of this award receive an $800 scholarship.

The Outstanding Doctoral Student Award is given to master's students in the Mental Health and Counseling program in recognition of leadership, service, advocacy, scholarship and mentorship.

Presented to a doctoral student in recognition of academic performance, service to the department and professional promise.

The Kenneth and Mary Matheny Scholarship is given in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in counseling and psychological services. The recipients received $3,500 and $4,500 scholarships, respectively.

The Karen Lopp Memorial Scholarship is given in recognition of a commitment to multicultural issues and social injustice through advocacy and service. The recipient will receive a $500 scholarship.

This award is presented to a graduating student or students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a willingness to provide service to the department's outreach efforts.

This scholarship honors Dr. J. Rhodes Haverty, founding dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences, a precursor to the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions at Georgia State University. This award recognizes student(s), from any Lewis School major, who demonstrate academic excellence and a career interest in an area of children's health.

This award is presented to graduating students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a positive professional attitude and a willingness to serve the needs of the profession.

This honor society promotes and recognizes the significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Baccalaureate degree candidates who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for induction. The Alpha Eta motto is "Together We Serve" to represent all of the allied health professions. Georgia State University became a founding member of the Alpha Eta in March 1975.

This scholarship was established in memory of Daniel Sansone, son of Joseph Sansone, founder and CEO of Pediatria Healthcare, LLC and former Lewis School advisory board member. The Daniel J. Sansone Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student interested in pediatric nursing or respiratory therapy.

This award was established in memory of Merle Lott, who was Director of Nursing for the DeKalb County Health Department and a dedicated public health nurse in Georgia for over 30 years. It recognizes students who have demonstrated academic excellence and plan to pursue a career in public health nursing.

This award was established to honor Mrs. Byrdine F. Lewis for whom the Georgia State University School of Nursing was named in 2003. Throughout her nursing career, Mrs. Lewis exemplified a dedication to clinical practice and quality patient care. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate nursing students who have a strong academic record and who are committed to clinical practice in a hospital setting.

This scholarship was established to benefit graduate students who are interested in pursuing a career as a nurse educator.
