Aisha Walker Earns John Warkentin Memorial Award
Georgia State University student Aisha Walker has received the John Warkentin Memorial Award. This award is made annually to a graduate student showing outstanding potential in psychotherapy as well as financial need. John Warkentin was a psychiatrist in Atlanta who died in 1983. Dr. Warkentin and his wife, who was a clinical psychologist, were strong supporters of the psychotherapy program in the 1970s.

Ningxin Zhu Earns William G. Nolan Memorial Scholarship
Georgia State University graduate Ningxin Zhu was awarded the William G. Nolan Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students who excel in academic achievement based on grade point average, intellectual inquisitiveness, and research activities, and who show leadership and good citizenship at Georgia State University and in other communities. The scholarship was created in memory of former Associate Professor of Biology William G. Nolan.

Pratima Kumari Awarded Timothy Jon Bartness Memorial Scholarship
Georgia State University student Pratima Kumari has been awarded the Timothy Jon Bartness Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established in memory of Timothy Jon Bartness (1953-2015), who joined the Biology department faculty in 1988. Bartness was a Regents' Professor and founding director of the Center for Obesity Reversal. He was internationally celebrated for his research on obesity and metabolic physiology in addition to mentoring young scientists.
