Casey Turner received the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award in Kinesiology and Health from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Honors Day celebration. This award is given to a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Kinesiology and Health (KH) who serves as an instructor in KH courses that require planning, instruction and grading, is an active participant in the KH graduate teaching assistant mentoring program and demonstrates excellence in teaching.

Georgia State University student Jessica Grom has received the Doctoral Fellowship in Trauma Intervention. This fellowship is awarded to students whose program of study prepares them to provide specialized assistance to people who have experienced traumatic events such as physical and/or sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, terrorism, or war.

Georgia State University student Ciera Lewis has received the Bailey M. Wade Memorial Scholarship. This award is given to a first-year graduate student who has excelled in coursework, individual research and scholarship, and departmental service. Dr. Bailey M. Wade was the first chair of the Psychology department.

Georgia State University graduate Ari Fodeman earned support from the Craigie International Security Scholars Fund during the 2021-22 academic year. This fund was established by Georgia State alumna Kay Craigie to provide support to Ph.D. students in the college who focus on thwarting terrorism and protecting democracy. Recipients must be in good academic standing in the College of Arts and Sciences and be in the third through fifth year in their Ph.D. program with academic pursuit in international security.

This award is given annually to a graduate student who has been an outstanding instructor in the Department of Psychology. It is named for Walter F. Daves, a professor in the department from 1966-1997 and chair 1989-1994.

This award, given annually to an outstanding graduate student in the Department of Psychology, is named for Richard Morrell, a talented clinical graduate student who died tragically in an airplane crash in Africa in 2003. Awardees are selected for excellence in their professional development, teaching, and service.

This award, given annually to an outstanding graduate student in the Department of Psychology, is named for Richard Morrell, a talented clinical graduate student who died tragically in an airplane crash in Africa in 2003. Georgia State University graduate Ari Fodeman has received the Percival Rogers Statistics Award. This award is given annually to a graduate student who has shown outstanding development and ability in the use of statistics in psychology. It is named for Percival Rogers Bakeman (1882-1932), who was regarded as something of a polymath. He was a professor at Shanghai College, where he distinguished himself as the only American to lecture routinely in Chinese.

Georgia State University student Aisha Walker has received the John Warkentin Memorial Award. This award is made annually to a graduate student showing outstanding potential in psychotherapy as well as financial need. John Warkentin was a psychiatrist in Atlanta who died in 1983. Dr. Warkentin and his wife, who was a clinical psychologist, were strong supporters of the psychotherapy program in the 1970s.

Georgia State University graduate Ningxin Zhu was awarded the William G. Nolan Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students who excel in academic achievement based on grade point average, intellectual inquisitiveness, and research activities, and who show leadership and good citizenship at Georgia State University and in other communities. The scholarship was created in memory of former Associate Professor of Biology William G. Nolan.

Georgia State University student Pratima Kumari has been awarded the Timothy Jon Bartness Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established in memory of Timothy Jon Bartness (1953-2015), who joined the Biology department faculty in 1988. Bartness was a Regents' Professor and founding director of the Center for Obesity Reversal. He was internationally celebrated for his research on obesity and metabolic physiology in addition to mentoring young scientists.

Georgia State University student Shirong Wong has received the Neurobiology Fellowship. The fellowship provides an award for an outstanding graduate student in the neurobiology program.

The scholarship supports undergraduate students who are enrolled in the premed/prehealth concentration program in the College of Arts and Sciences. Recipients must be in good academic standing, be a top-performing student majoring in biology with a concentration in premed/pre-health disciplines, and have a demonstrated financial need.

The Borden D. Dent Excellence in Cartography award recognizes students' accomplishments in cartography and is named in memory of Dr. Dent, a Georgia State professor emeritus and former chairman of the Department of Geography and Anthropology.

The Ahmed T. Abdelal Fellowship in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology is given to outstanding Ph.D. students for achievement in the field of molecular genetics or biotechnology. This award is named in honor of former Dean Ahmed T. Abdelal, who established the molecular genetics and biotechnology program at Georgia State University.

Georgia State University graduate Forrest Dabbs received the David E. Ogren Memorial Endowed Scholarship during the 2021-22 academic year. The scholarship is given to a student for outstanding service to the Department of Geosciences and was created to honor the memory of David E. Ogren, Professor Emeritus in Geology.
