2024 Justice John Paul Stevens Public Interest Fellows

Three Georgia State University College of Law students were named 2024 Justice John Paul Stevens Public Interest Fellows. Jiovanny Dominguez (J.D. '25), Aaliyah Knight (J.D. '26) and Aimee Lyons (J.D. '25) are all members of the 2024 Stevens Fellows cohort, consisting of 157 law students nationwide who work in public interest law.

Global Scholar Distinction (Summer 2024)

Students who earn the Global Scholar Distinction are recognized by Georgia State University for their development of global competence: the skills, knowledge and awareness that enhance the ability to succeed in a global environment. The Global Scholar Distinction is open to all Bachelor degree-seeking majors in all colleges, in addition to Associate degree-seeking students at Perimeter College.

Summer 2024 President's List

To be eligible for the President's List during the summer semester, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 4.0 for a minimum of six semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

Hassan Davis is working this summer with 23 East Communications Group and MARTA to support their social media, communications, and outreach initiatives while putting his production and post-production skills to work. Hassan completed the 2-year Inclusive Digital Expression and Literacy (IDEAL) Program in Spring 2024 and will continue to take classes at Georgia Statenext year. Hassan is a skilled video editor, a lover of trains, and a natural on camera.

Students from Georgia State's IDEAL Program Earn Scholarships

Four IDEAL at GSU students with Down Syndrome received scholarships during Spring 2024 semester from the National Down Syndrome Congress, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.The National Down Syndrome Congress is dedicated to an improved world for individuals with Down syndrome. They are the leading national resource of support and information for anyone touched by or seeking to learn about Down syndrome. Each student received $500 in scholarship to go towards GSU tuition and attending the IDEAL Program. Students who received the scholarship are: Angad Sahgal, Cameron Kindree, Oluremi Ademola Dada, and Rahul Sivakumar.
