Sharmili Suriraj is the 2025 recipient of the Outstanding Master's Student in Special Education Award from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development. The award is given in recognition of the student's outstanding scholarship and service in Georgia State University's M.Ed. (Master of Education) Special Education program.

Ansley Myers is the 2025 recipient of the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Special Education Award. The award is given in recognition of the student's outstanding scholarship and service in the special education bachelor's degree program.

Tonya Gibson is the 2025 recipient of the Outstanding Deaf Education Student Award. The award is given to an outstanding student in the deaf studies concentration or the M.A.T. (Master of Arts in Teaching) program who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to deaf education and promise as a future educator.

Kiara McKay is the 2025 recipient of the Outstanding SLIP Student Award, which is given to an outstanding deaf studies student concentrating in sign language interpreting who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the sign language interpreting field and shows promise as a future interpreter.

Congratulations to the Georgia State University College of Law team for their strong performance in the William W. Daniel National Mock Trial Competition. Their success was recognized on Georgia State's Spring 2025 Honor Day. This prestigious competition is hosted annually in Atlanta by the Georgia State Bar Young Lawyers Division. It attracts top trial advocacy teams from across the country. The Georgia State Law team demonstrated exceptional courtroom skills, persuasive storytelling and a deep understanding of trial procedure.

Michelle Fuller recieved the 2025 Outstanding M.Ed. Student Award in Literacy Education, which is given to a student in the M.Ed. in Literacy Education program who displays academic achievement, teaching expertise, community service and a commitment to excellence.

Jonathan Peraza Campos recieved the 2025 Outstanding M.A.T. Student Award in English Education, which is given to a student in the M.A.T. (Master of Arts in Teaching) in English Education program that demonstrates academic achievement, teaching expertise, community service and a commitment to excellence.

Caroline Rabalais receives the Outstanding Ph.D. Student Award in Language and Literacy Education, which is given to an outstanding student in the college's language and literacy doctoral program who displays academic achievement, teaching expertise, community service and a commitment to excellence.

The Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT) helps students enhance their ability to explain research effectively and appropriately to an intelligent, but non-specialist audience. Students have three minutes to present compelling orations on their thesis or dissertation topics and their significance.

Georgia State University College of Law welcomes the 2025-2026 Law Review Executive Board. The Law Review is a legal journal run by second and third-year Georgia State Law students that publishes articles written by scholars, practitioners and students four times a year. The journal provides the legal community with an in-depth view of the Georgia General Assembly's activities, the legislative intent behind significant bills and an analysis of the potential effects of noteworthy Executive Orders.

To be eligible for the President's List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 4.0 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

Nearly 600 Georgia State University students participated in the institution's 2025 MLK Day of Service, in honor of the vision and legacy of The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. They volunteered for projects serving seniors, youth, people who are unhoused, members of the military, and other members of the greater community.

Students who earn the Global Scholar Distinction are recognized by Georgia State University for their development of global competence: the skills, knowledge and awareness that enhance the ability to succeed in a global environment. The Global Scholar Distinction is open to all Bachelor degree-seeking majors in all colleges, in addition to Associate degree-seeking students at Perimeter College.

Five Georgia State University College of Law students were selected as 2024-2025 Weltner Family Law Inn of Court pupils. The Weltner Family Inn is a chapter of the American Inns of Court; an organization that seeks to increase civility and professionalism among bench and bar members through social interaction and legal education. The chosen students will have opportunities to network and receive mentorship from lawyers and judges.

Georgia State University College of Law inducted 30 new student honorees and two honorary alumni into the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2024. These esteemed societies celebrate excellent scholarship and advocate for law students nationwide.
