Romonda Middlebrooks-Jefferson is the 2026 recipient of the College of Education & Human Development's Asa G. Hilliard, III Memorial Scholarship.

The College of Education & Human Development's Alonzo and Gwendolyn Crim Endowed Scholarship supports a student in the College of Education & Human Development who is actively engaged in the Alonzo A. Crim for Urban Educational Excellence and is committed to advancing educational excellence in urban schools.

The College of Education & Human Development's Bradford and Patricia Ferrer Scholarship in Education supports undergraduate students preparing for a career in teaching who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The College of Education & Human Development Scholarship recognizes individuals with outstanding accomplishments in the College of Education & Human Development. Undergraduate and graduate students who receive this scholarship are presently enrolled in the college, have completed at least 30 hours of coursework, are in good standing and show a pattern of department/program involvement or scholarship.

Osiris Zelaya is the 2026 recipient of the College of Education & Human Development's Dr. Cynthia Kuhlman and Dr. Wayne Sengstock Scholarship.

The award is given to the senior (or seniors, in the event of a tie) achieving the highest scholastic average for all course work taken at Georgia State.

Georgia State University College of Law is proud to recognize the CALI award winners for the fall 2025 academic semester. CALI awards are granted to law students who achieve the highest grade in their respective classes, representing momentous academic commitment and success.

The primary purpose of the SGA is to represent the students' interests to the university and as the official voice of students in academic, institutional and community affairs. It also appoints student representatives to the wider University Senate, giving students a voice on the central university-wide body that is key to decision making at GSU.

Among the most prestigious student organizations at Georgia State University, ambassadors with The 1913 Society, named for the year the university was founded, serve as hosts for high-profile events and ceremonies. Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland, Australia in 2008. The premise of the competition is to develop academic, presentation and research communication skills. It supports the development of students' capacities to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to an intelligent but non-specialist audience. Graduate students have three minutes to present compelling orations on their thesis or dissertation topics and their significance. 3MT is not an exercise in "watering down" research but forces students to consolidate their ideas and concisely explain their research discoveries.

More than 3,000 students earned certificates and degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels during the Fall 2025 semester. Students were recognized for their achievements during the university's 111th commencement exercises in December 2025.

Students who earn the Global Scholar Distinction are recognized by Georgia State University for their development of global competence: the skills, knowledge and awareness that enhance the ability to succeed in a global environment. The Global Scholar Distinction is open to all bachelor's degree-seeking majors in all colleges, as well as associate's degree-seeking students at Perimeter College.

The Graduate Conference for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity offers a platform for graduate students from all disciplines to showcase their scholarly and creative endeavors. The conference provides an opportunity for graduate students to share their work through posters, oral presentations, films, artist talks, creative displays or musical performances.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

Ila-Rose Robinson recently won Georgia State University's 2026 Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Oratory Competition. Robinson delivered her speech, "Between Auburn Avenue and Selma," during the university's week-long MLK Commemoration, celebrating and honoring the life, legacy and vision of Dr. King.

Nishchay Patel has earned the Wayne S. Kell Award for Academic Achievement from Georgia State University. The award is given to the senior who has achieved the highest scholastic average for all course work taken at Georgia State.

Georgia State University College of Law celebrates Noland Johnson for earning third place in the 2025 David S. Rosenbaum Writing Competition.The competition, hosted by the Video Game Bar Association (VGBA), celebrates outstanding legal scholarship on esports and gaming law. It awards scholarships to encourage and reward students interested in the field of interactive entertainment law.

Isabelle Grest (J.D. '28) has been selected as the winner of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law's 2025 Student Writing Competition.

Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

To be eligible for the Dean's List during the summer semester, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.
