English Department Pratt Fellowship
Fariha Hossain, an undergraduate studying English, won the Eleanor M. Pratt Endowment for English Majors. The award honors the legacy of Eleanor Mary Pratt, who had a deep love of literature, the English language, and the fine arts. Each year, the English Department awards scholarships to students for whom the study or writing or literature has made a significant impact. Candidates are nominated by faculty and nominations are reviewed by the English Department's Undergraduate Committee.

Georgia State University Student Featured in the Academy of American Poets
Georgia State University student Elizabeth Hazzard's poem "To the Black & Brown Children" was featured on the Academy of American Poets' website. Hazzard, of Atlanta, is an English major in the College of Arts & Sciences. Hazzard's poem "To Black & Brown Children:" won the 2019 Robert V. Morea III Poetry Prize. Georgia State University's Perimeter College Students Win Math Tournament
A team of Georgia State University's Perimeter College students won first place overall during the 24th Annual University of North Georgia Math Tournament, competing against 160 students from five states. Sook Ji Do placed first, winning $400 during the morning competition.

NAAIA Insurance competition
There was an insurance case study competition that Georgia State Students participated in. I was chosen along with two other students to represent Georgia State. Helping us on this task was the CNA insurance company. With 3 weeks of late nights and meetings both online and in person, we were successful with a win! We won a summer 2017 internship with Chubb and $500 each.
