2020 Honors Recital and Dean's Award
Georgia State University School of Music student, Joseph Lyons is the winner of the 2020 Honors Recital and Dean's Award. Lyons is in the Master of Music program, majoring in Saxophone Performance. Criteria included a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and outstanding musicianship. Lyons received $500 from the Dean's office. Currently, he is the principal saxophonist of the Georgia State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, bass saxophonist in the Georgia State University Saxophone Ensemble, and baritone chair of the Vinea Quartet. Lyons is in the saxophone studio of Associate Professor Jan Berry Baker.
