This award recognizes the Occupational Thearpy student who has made an outstanding contribution to the research efforts of the Department of Occupational Therapy and who exhibits the potential of becoming a significant contributor to the field of occupational therapy research.

This award is given to the Occupational Therapy student who maintains the structure and integrity of the class. This student has a strong commitment to the occupational therapy profession, is an avid patient advocate and is respected by faculty and peers.

This award is given to the graduating student in occupational therapy who personifies great character through leadership, community service and overall personal integrity and academic history.

This award is given to the occupational therapy student who has most actively participated in professional activities within the community, demonstrating high standards of professionalism, while maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The Occupational Therapy Leadership Excellence Award goes to the student who provides ongoing, dynamic leadership and guidance to their class and maintains a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The Occupational Therapy Academic Excellence Award is given to a graduating second year student with a GPA of 4.0 in the occupational therapy program who also exhibits overall academic excellence.

The Sara M. Hunt Clinical Excellence Award is given to a Coordinated Program student who has displayed outstanding performance in the clinical setting.

The Johnnie W. Prothro Academic Excellence Award is given to an undergraduate student in the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions who has achieved a high level of academic excellence in the nutrition program.

This award is given to a graduating senior who demonstrates a commitment to research, evidence of critical thinking skills, and a strong potential in nutrition research.

This national honor society, established by the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy, recognizes Doctor of Physical Therapy students in their last year of PT school, who have demonstrated excellence, integrity and professionalism in the areas of academic achievement, leadership, service or research, and have demonstrated strong moral character, ethics and the core values of PT profession.

This award, established in memory of James Ancil Lewis, honors his exemplary work in respiratory therapy: from his graduation in 1973 until his death in 1992. This award is given to a junior(s) in the program who exemplifies Mr. Lewis' characteristics of service to others, particularly in clinical work and direct patient care.

This scholarship was established in memory of Daniel Sansone, son of Joseph Sansone, founder and CEO of Pediatria Healthcare, LLC and former advisory board member of the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions. The Daniel J. Sansone Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student interested in pediatric nursing or respiratory therapy.
