To be eligible for the Dean's List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies presented various awards to recognize the achievements of undergraduate and graduate students during its 23rd Annual Honors Day Ceremony on April 11, 2019 in the Student Center Ballroom. The ceremony also included a presentation of the 2019 Andrew Young School Excellence in Teaching Award to Fred P. Brooks, associate professor in the School of Social Work.

Andrew Young School of Policy Studies doctoral candidates Hala Altamimi (Public Policy), Nicardo McInnis (Economics) and Youngwan Song (Public Policy) attended the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management's (APPAM) 41st Annual Fall Research Conference.

Georgia State University's Julia Watzek is the lead author of a research paper published in the journal Scientific Reports. Watzek, of Atlanta, is a Ph.D. candidate in psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. Watzek holds a master's degree in Psychology from Georgia State University. Watzek's research is titled "Capuchin and rhesus monkeys but not humans show cognitive flexibility in an optional-switch task."

Georgia State University student Taylah Martin was named a recipient of the highly prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Martin, of Stone Mountain, is an Applied Linguistics master's student in the College of Arts & Sciences. The Fulbright Student Fellowship provides students with the opportunity to live and work abroad. To be competitive for the fellowship, candidates must have an excellent academic background, demonstrate leadership in their field and be willing to serve as an ambassador during this cultural exchange. The Fulbright Program is designed to build lasting connections between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The program offers teaching, research or a combination of study/research awards and is supported by the United States, other participating governments and host institutions, corporations and foundations. The program operates in more than 140 countries.

Georgia State University student Elizabeth Hazzard's poem "To the Black & Brown Children" was featured on the Academy of American Poets' website. Hazzard, of Atlanta, is an English major in the College of Arts & Sciences. Hazzard's poem "To Black & Brown Children:" won the 2019 Robert V. Morea III Poetry Prize. The School of Accountancy Outstanding Student Scholarship is given to three students demonstrating high academic achievement.

The Zera-Allen Scholarships Endowment was originally established in 1998 by Angela Z. and Samuel E. Allen. In 2012, the fund was split equally to provide current student support through two scholarships, the Zera-Allen Scholarship, and the Zera-Allen Global Partners MBA Scholarship. The Global Partners MBA recipients must be in good academic standing in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, or have applied to the MBA Program and demonstrated a potential for academic success.

The William P. Key Scholarship was established in honor of the late William P. "Bill" Key in recognition of his outstanding contribution and support to the Beebe Institute. The scholarship is awarded annually to the student who has demonstrated superior academic performance in the Personnel and Employment Relations Master's program.

The Tasca A. Moore Scholarship was established in 1973 by Mr. Moore to provide support for students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

A native Atlantan, William Lee Burge started working as a teenager in the mailroom of the Retail Credit Company and later rose to become the company's Chairman of the Board. The company is known today as Equifax

Each year, the Department of Computer Information Systems honors the graduate student in the Master of Science in Information Systems program with the most outstanding academic record. The award is named for William C. Cotterman, the first chairman of the CIS department at Georgia State University. Winners receive a cash award, and their names are engraved on a plaque that hangs in the CIS department lobby.

Originally established by Wachovia Foundation, this scholarship was renamed the Wells Fargo - J. Mack Robinson College of Business Scholarship in 2015. The scholarship provides support to an undergraduate student majoring in any discipline within the Robinson College of Business.

The Waino W. Suojanen Research Excellence Award is presented to the doctoral student in managerial sciences with the most outstanding record of achievement in research.

S. Tamer Cavusgil and Judy Cavusgil, both educators, wish to honor exceptional students who are proactive about expanding their horizons and seeking professional development opportunities. The Susan A. J. Wilson Scholarship was established in 2018 by Susan A.J. Wilson to provide support for undergraduate students who are majoring in accounting within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

The State Farm Insurance Companies Scholarship was established by State Farm Insurance Companies to provide support for juniors and seniors in the Robinson College of Business majoring in marketing, accounting, finance, risk management and insurance, computer information systems, actuarial science, or business economics.

Alumna Carole Powell Sorrells and her husband Michael established the Sorrells Family Scholarship in 2015 to provide support for an undergraduate student majoring in computer information systems in the Robinson College of Business.

The Shulman Family Scholarship was established in 2017 by the estate of Georgia State alumnus Robert H. Shulman to provide support to students majoring in any discipline in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

The Robert S. Williford EB Medicine Scholarship was established in 2016 by Georgia State alumna Stephanie A. Williford to honor her late father, Georgia State alumnus Robert S. Williford, who founded EB Medicine in 2001. This scholarship provides financial support for students majoring in any discipline within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

The Robert R. King Memorial Scholarship in Hospitality & Tourism is in memory of Robert King, a leader in Georgia's hospitality industry as president of the Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association. It is presented to a hospitality major based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, and work experience.

Each year, one outstanding graduate student in the accountancy program at Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business receives an award sponsored by PwC, one of the "Big Four" accounting organizations and the second largest professional services firm in the world.

The Pickett Riggs Scholarship was established by the Young Alumni Council of the Georgia State University Alumni Association upon retirement of faculty member Pickett Riggs, to provide support for students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

This scholarship was established in 2011 by Georgia State Univeristy alumna Phyllis L. Parker to provide support to students who are majoring in any discipline in the Robinson College of Business. Recipients must be a first generation college student, and have at least one parent who emigrated to the U.S. from a foreign country and became a naturalized citizen or permanent resident.

North Point Hospitality Group, Inc., based in Atlanta, was founded in 1978 by JK Patel. The company owns, develops, and manages brand defining hotels in key business markets and leisure destinations. This scholarship is based on academic achievement, hotel career aspirations, work experience and leadership in student organizations.

The R. J. Knobel Scholarship was established upon Dr. Roland "Knob" Knobel's retirement in 1985, after teaching in the institute since 1970. This award is given to MHA students based on academic performance, and to recognize those who have achieved distinction through professional and community activities.
