This merit-based scholarship is awarded annually to a junior or juniors majoring in criminal justice in memory of E. P. "Phil" Peters, who directed the Georgia Bureau of Investigation from 1980-1985.

The award was established to honor the late Dan E. Sweat, a Georgia State alumnus and long-time Atlanta civic leader. An assistantship is awarded annually to one or more deserving graduate students with career interests in public service.

The Outstanding Doctoral Student is awarded by the Andrew Young School's Department of Public Management and Policy faculty to a Ph.D. in Public Policy candidate who best exemplifies academic excellence and an ongoing commitment to scholarship in the field of public policy.

This fellowship is awarded annually to a deserving graduate student with academic and research interests in public finance, financial regulatory policy impact on national, regional and local economics, or public management. It honors the former state banking commissioner and alumnus E. D. Dunn.

This annual award was established in honor of Mark E. Schaefer, a professor of economics at Georgia State University, to recognize the student with the highest grade point average in the Master of Arts in Economics program.

The Public Management and Policy (PMAP) Scholarship is awarded annually to one or more outstanding incoming M.P.A. and M.P.P. students. Recipients must maintain full-time and good standing status in the graduate program and serve as graduate research assistants in the PMAP department.

The Student Leadership award is given annually to a student who exhibits exemplary leadership within the Andrew Young School's Department of Public Management and Policy. Leadership factors considered include involvement in student organizations and other student initiatives that benefit the department and attendance at PMAP career and professional research events. This student is an ambassador representing the policy school and PMAP department to the greater Atlanta community

The Best Research Paper Award is presented annually to a graduate student in the Public Management and Policy program, selected by a faculty committee. Student papers were nominated by faculty on topics ranging from privatization, human resource issues in the public and private sector, public finance and financial management.

The Economics Award is presented to an undergraduate at the Andrew Young School of Policy studies at Georgia State University who achieves the highest grade point average in economics courses above the 2000 level and demonstrates a commitment to the study of economics.

The Andrew Young School awards this honor to the top economics major studying intermediate microeconomics during the previous year.

The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes a student who, in the judgment of the faculty, has performed exceptionally well in teaching.

This award recognizes outstanding academic achievement in Georgia State University's International Economics and Modern Languages degree program.

The Economics Student Achievement Award signifies academic excellence and outstanding service in the economics student community. It is presented to an outstanding senior majoring in economics at Georgia State University.

Shared by the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies' Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology and the School of Social Work, this merit-based scholarship is presented annually to a rising junior or senior majoring in each area. It was established by the Georgia Council of Juvenile Court Judges in memory of Chris Perrin, executive director of the council and an alumnus of Georgia State University.

Atlanta Legal Aid Society fellows are MPA or MPP students selected annually to work with the organization to get a well-rounded introduction to the nation's critical legal issues - from public benefits to complex mortgage litigation. They assist in researching and developing program administration and policy development.

The annual Quantitative Economics Award, established by alumnus Harold Ball, recognizes distinguished performance in quantitative economics.

The Andrew Young School Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes a student who, in the judgment of the school's Department of Economics faculty, has performed exceptionally well in the classroom.

This award was established in memory of Diane B. Davis, who exemplified high standards of professional practice. Vermilya was selected to receive the award for demonstrating a consistency of competency and creativity in social work while maintaining at or above a 3.75 grade point average.

The award, created in memory of Wanda Cardwell, honors the policy school's School of Social Work students who have exemplified courage, determination and perseverance in the completion of their goal, despite obstacles.

The Outstanding Masters of Social Work Student Award is presented to a graduating M.S.W. student who has demonstrated service to the school and embodiment of the community partnership concentration.

The Legislative Budget Fellowship, in partnership with the Georgia Senate Budget and Evaluation Office (SBEO), combines a paid internship opportunity with a graduate assistantship through the Department of Public Management and Policy. This fellowship is awarded to a deserving student competitively.

UPS Fellows gain an opportunity to learn about the work of the UPS Foundation in conjunction with their graduate studies.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Fellowship is a competitively awarded internship for selected economics students to experience and contribute to the formation of monetary policy.

St. Vincent De Paul fellows gain an opportunity to work at a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower people, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or faith, to achieve self-sufficiency.
