Two Georgia State Honors College Students Received Places for Fulbright Summer Institute to the U.K.
Two Georgia State University Honors College students have received places for Fulbright Summer Institutes, one of the most prestigious and selective summer scholarship programs operating world-wide. Samaria Henry, a junior from Rex, Ga., studying political science has been awarded a place at the University of Bristol. Ryan Harris, a junior from Woodstock, Ga., studying film and media has been awarded a place at the University of Birmingham. The Summer Institutes form part of the U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Commission's work to promote leadership, learning and empathy among nations through educational exchange.

Amadou Bah Receives Student Leadership Excellence Award
Amadou Bah, a Georgia State University Perimeter College student studying engineering, was recognized with the Student Leadership Excellence Award during the 2018 Perimeter College Honors Award Ceremony. He was described as the "epitome of a student leader" who tutors classmates across a majority of Perimeter College's STEM curriculums. Bah also was named the national Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Scholar for the college.

Alpha Eta National Honor Society in Health Professions
The Alpha Eta National Honor Society promotes and recognizes significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Baccalaureate degree candidates who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for induction. The Alpha Eta motto is "Together We Serve" to represent all of the allied health professions. Georgia State University became a founding member of the Alpha Eta in March 1975.

Isaac King Recognized for Service Excellence During Honors Day
Isaac King, a Georgia State University Perimeter College computer science student, was honored for is work in community service projects during the 2018 Georgia State University Perimeter College Honors Day ceremony. King, a graduate of MLK Jr. High School, is student president of the Mentoring Initiative for New Americans and is an advisor to the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. He also is the vice president of the Clarkston Computer and Engineering Club.

A team of Georgia State University's Perimeter College students won first place overall during the 24th Annual University of North Georgia Math Tournament, competing against 160 students from five states. Sook Ji Do placed first, winning $400 during the morning competition.
