Amelia Campbell is the 2019 recipient of the Jeff and Debbie Rupp Endowed Scholarship in Exercise Science.

Amber Pradhan is the 2019 recipient of the Robert L. Blaney and Joe C. White Scholarship.

The Kenneth and Mary Matheny Professional in Counseling and Psychology Scholarship is given to full-time doctoral students in the College of Education and Human Development's Department of Counseling and Psychological Services. The award was established by Kenneth Matheny, a faculty member in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services for 45 years, and his wife, Mary.

Named for Georgia State University alumnus Karen Lopp and awarded by the university's College of Education & Human Development, the Karen Lopp Memorial Scholarship is given to a student in recognition of their commitment to multicultural issues and social injustice through advocacy and service.

The David Jemel Holloman Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an exceptional undergraduate student in the university's College of Education & Human Development majoring in early childhood and elementary education.

The JoAnna F. White Play Therapy Scholarship is given to a graduate student in good standing in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services who is dedicated to the study and clinical practice of play therapy. It's named for JoAnna F. White, former department chair of the college's Department of Counseling and Psychological Services who began the play therapy training program during her tenure.

Established by Dr. Colleen O'Rourke, retired associate professor of communication sciences and disorders in Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development, the Communication Sciences and Disorders Graduate Scholarship is given to a graduate student in the communication sciences and disorders master's program.

The Roy M. Hall and Ron Colarusso Dean's Award is given to the senior who maintained the highest scholastic average in teacher education courses. It's named for Roy M. Hall, the first dean of the former School of Education, and Ron Colarusso, the fifth dean of the former College of Education.

The Kay Chester Scholarship for Teachers in Training is awarded to a woman pursuing a degree in teacher preparation who has the challenge of raising a family while furthering her education.

The Felicia and Rodney Mayfield Scholarship is given to a deserving undergraduate student in the College of Education & Human Development. It was established by three-time Georgia State alumna Felicia Mayfield and her husband, Rodney.

Jessica DeMarco is the 2019 recipient of the Dean's Excellence Award in Early Childhood Special Education in Memory of Ann Dixon Demonet.

The College of Education & Human Development Scholarship is awarded by Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development, recognizing undergraduate and graduate students for outstanding accomplishments and who show a pattern of department/program involvement or scholarship.

The Asa G. Hilliard, III Memorial Scholarship is given to a student in recognition of their leadership and engagement in urban education settings that has improved and demonstrates promise to continue improving the educational context and/or student development and learning in these settings.

Reginald Slaughter is the 2019 recipient of the Alonzo and Gwendolyn Crim Scholarship, which is given to an undergraduate student who demonstrates a commitment to serving urban communities through education in formal and/or informal spaces, is connected to a program in the Alonzo A. Crim Center for Urban Educational Excellence and shows the ability to work collaboratively in the development and implementation of solutions to issues in urban communities.

The Neurobiology and Behavior Graduate Fellowship is given in recognition of outstanding research and scholarship by a senior graduate student in the neurobiology and behavior program.

The Timothy Jon Bartness Memorial Award was established in memory of Dr. Timothy Jon Bartness (1953-2015) who joined the Biology faculty in 1988. Dr. Bartness was a Regents' Professor and founding director of the Center for Obesity Reversal. He was internationally celebrated for his research on obesity and metabolic physiology in addition to mentoring young scientists.

The Robert L. Blakely Endowed Scholarship in Anthropology recognizes an anthropology senior who shows strong potential in the field of anthropology, in memory of Dr. Blakely's contribution to anthropological education.

Georgia State University student Eboni Johnson was recently recognized for receiving the Lucille Adams Scholarship. Johnson of Pineview, GA is an African American Studies major in the College of Arts & Sciences.

The Thomas and Wendy Reiman Endowed Scholarship provides support to undergraduates who have reached the junior or senior level in the College of Arts & Sciences and are majoring in the humanities.

Georgia State University student Deja Milton was awarded The Eleanor McEdwards International Opportunity Award. Milton, of Decatur, is a Psychology major in the College of Arts & Sciences. The Eleanor McEdwards International Opportunity Scholarship is a study abroad scholarship awarded annually to an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in the College of Arts and Sciences. The scholarship was established by Dr. Colleen McEdwards and Scott Burnside in honor of her mother, Eleanor McEdwards, who was dedicated to creating and promoting opportunities for international travel and study among young people. Because of Eleanor's dedication, Dr. McEdwards was able to participate in study abroad programs throughout the former Soviet Union, and then went on to become an anchor and correspondent for CNN International.

Georgia State University student Meklit Gebru has been selected for the Donald M. Payne Fellowship. The Payne Fellowship provides up to $22,000 annually towards tuition and mandatory fees for completion of a two-year master's program in international affairs or a related subject at an approved graduate school. In addition, there is a stipend, up to $16,000 per year, for each of the two years of graduate study, to help pay living expenses, books, and travel while in school under the Payne Fellowship.

Keridan Ogletree, a senior political science major at Georgia State University, served as an intern at the state capitol during the 2019 session of the Georgia General Assembly.

Eric Edmonson, a junior political science major at Georgia State University, served as an intern at the state capitol during the 2019 session of the Georgia General Assembly. Edmonson, of Buford, GA, felt that the Georgia Legislative Internship Program (GLIP) "was a unique opportunity that very few get to participate in." Eric hoped that GLIP "would make him stand out from his peers" and give him a greater chance at achieving greatness in future career plans. After graduation, Eric plans to attend law school and eventually become an attorney and business owner. He is inspired by the quote "success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it," by Henry David Thoreau. His favorite book is "Memoirs of the Second World War," by Winston Churchill

Stephanie Gomez, a Georgia State political science major, served as an intern at the state capitol during the 2019 session of the Georgia General Assembly.

Maariz Kashem, a political science student at Georgia State University, served as an intern at the state capitol. Kashem, of Lawrenceville, GA, decided to apply to the Georgia Legislative Internship Program to gain knowledge of the inner workings of government and determine whether politics would be the right career path for him. On campus, Maariz is the Vice President of Secular Panthers and is a member of Model UN. In the immediate future, Kashem plans to graduate from Georgia State and get real-world work experience before deciding where to go career and graduate school wise. Maariz's favorite book is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon.

Meeyabonyui Aneneba, a junior political science major at Georgia State University, interned at the state capitol during the 2019 legislative session. Anenba, of Lawrenceville, GA, found that The Georgia Legislative Internship Program (GLIP) was an amazing experience and was grateful to be a part of GLIP. In addition, she now has a greater appreciation for government and the people who work towards making our state great. After graduating from Georgia State, Meeyabonyui plans to pursue a master's degree in political science, and thereafter, hopes to serve the public and help create better communities. Meeyabonyui's favorite quote is "don't try to lessen yourself for the world; let the world catch up to you," by Beyonce. She is inspired by the book Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
