The Friedrich William Ralf Munster Fellowship in Philosophy is given to an outstanding graduate student in Philosophy in honor of Ralf F. Munster, chair of the department from 1955 to 1976.

The Henry Thompson Malone Memorial Scholarship in History is awarded to a history major with an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Preference is given to students with research interests in colonial America, nineteenth-century United States, Native American or Georgia history. This scholarship was created by Ms. Alice Young to honor the memory of her husband Henry Malone, a history professor and administrator at Georgia State.

The Jenny Thurston Fellowship in Heritage Preservation is an annual award and internship with the Atlanta Urban Design Commission for an outstanding historic preservationist in Atlanta.

The Ethel Illges Woodruff Fellowship in Southern History is awarded to a graduate student who intends to pursue the master's program with a concentration in southern history. Mrs. Ethel Illges Woodruff, a native of Columbus, Georgia, was keenly interested in the history of Georgia, eastern Alabama, and the Chattahoochee Valley. This fellowship in honor of Mrs. Woodruff was established in 1995 in the Department of History at Georgia State by the J.W. and Ethel I. Woodruff Foundation of Columbus.

Kate Schwarz won first place for her presentation titled "Under Pressure: GSU musicians' responses to music performance anxiety" at the Spring 2019 Honors Thesis Pitch Competition.

Donavon Mattox won second place for his presentation titled "Stress and college affordability" at the Spring 2019 Honors Thesis Pitch Competition.

The Outstanding Exercise Science Graduate Student Award, given by Georgia State's College of Education & Human Development, recognizes a student for academic excellence and participation in the exercise science graduate degree program.

Nancy Tran won the People's Choice Award for her presentation titled "Mental Health and interpersonal violence in the lives of incarcerated women" at the Spring 2019 Honors Thesis Pitch Competition.

The George W. Beiswanger Endowed Award is awarded to an undergraduate major on the basis of overall academic excellence, including program GPA, overall GPA, undergraduate research projects, B.A. thesis work, and participation in academically-oriented departmental activities. The award was endowed by philosophy alum Kay Craigie in honor of Dr. Beiswanger, who was Professor of Philosophy at Georgia State from 1963 to 1970.

The Kay C. Craigie Student Support Fund Scholarship is awarded to academically successful philosophy majors who face financial barriers to realizing their dreams. The award was created with the generous support of Kay Craigie.

The Orbun Troy Moore III Undergraduate Ethics Essay Contest Award is given annually to an undergraduate student who submits the best essay in a contest sponsored by Georgia State University's Jean Beer Blumenfeld Center for Ethics. The award was established with the generous support of Katherine B. Moore in loving memory of her son.

The Arlene and Alvin Altman Endowment in Philosophy provides scholarships to students who achieve at the highest scholastic level in the Philosophy Department.

The Jacqueline Boles Graduate Teaching Fellowship is presented to outstanding graduate student instructors in the Department of Sociology. This scholarship was created by the Department of Sociology to honor Jackie Boles, a cherished faculty member for more than 30 years.

The Margaret L. Andersen Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding undergraduate or graduate Sociology student. This endowment was created by Dr. Margaret Andersen (B.A. Sociology, 1970) and her husband, Richard Rosenfeld.
