Clayton State Personal Elevator Pitch Competition
The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Institute (ENI) features graduate and undergraduate students who are poised to make waves in a range of disciplines and industries. Their unlimited potential was on full display at the Personal Elevator Pitch Competition recently hosted by Clayton State University's College of Business. Participants were tasked with putting together a 90-second elevator pitch to communicate their value to potential employers. Three ENI students finished in the top four.

University of Tennessee VolHacks Victory
Jennifer Boudreau, Yi-Hsuan "Lisa" Su and Marilia "Mia" Dantas of the Master of Science in Analytics program brought home the gold from the University of Tennessee's VolHacks competition - a 36-hour, caffeine-fueled hackathon in which they brainstormed, built, tested and deployed their student-driven innovation with the help of professional mentors.

ENI Students Place in Top 5 at Atlanta Startup Battle
A team of four classmates in a course offered through the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Institute (ENI) made it to the top five in the Atlanta Startup Battle, a quarterly competition held at TechSquare Labs. Undergraduates Ahmed Reshit, Luis Ferrer-Labarca, Sara Yeh and Alex Blanco-Pence pitched uPet, a pet rental service aimed at encouraging people to adopt instead of shop for a furry friend.

William W. Daniel Mock Trial Competition
Georgia State University College of Law Student Trial Lawyers Association team of Ryan Brown (J.D. '17), Lacey Wheeler (J.D. '17), Robert Noens (J.D. '18) and Hunter Rogers (J.D. '18) won the William Daniel Mock Trial Competition held Nov. 19-20 at the Fulton County courthouse. Alison Burleson (J.D. '00) and Alex Galvan (J.D. '14) coached the group. Every summer, the William W. Daniel National Invitational Mock Trial Committee sends hundreds of applications to ABA accredited law schools. Only 18 schools are invited to compete in this well-known competition named in honor of the late Judge William W. Daniel of the Superior Court of Fulton County.

Finalists for Sixth Annual Intellectual Property LawMeet Competition
Three of the finalists for this year's LawMeet Competition are law students at Georgia State University College of Law. The team won "Best Draft" during the national competition. Twenty-four teams competed in regional rounds. This year's IP LawMeet involves the drafting and negotiation of a software development, and license & hosting agreement between an education technology company and a company that provides training solutions for home health aides.

2016-17 Georgia State Student Trial Lawyers Association Members
The Georgia State Student Trial Lawyers Association gives our students an opportunity to gain experience in a courtroom setting through participation in national competitions. The program focuses on criminal and civil trial practice skills and enables members to apply the knowledge they gain in their evidence and litigation courses.

Seventeen Georgia State University students entered the Panther Pit to try and deliver the best "elevator" pitch at a contest held on Friday, October 30 by the Herman J. Russell, Sr. International Center for Entrepreneurship at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. The event was held in Centennial Hall.

A team of MBA students representing Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business today won the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) Case Competition in Orlando, Fla. This is the second consecutive year that Robinson's team has won the competition, which comes with a $25,000 scholarship.

Winners of the Robinson's Business Plan Competition
Berkley Baker, Executive MBA student at the Robinson College of Business, has won $20,000 at the college's Business Plan Competition to further his business in medical technology innovations. The second-place winner was Justin McLeod, a senior majoring in marketing, who garnered $10,000 for his Event Tent app, focused on event promotion and planning, joined by fellow students junior graphic design major Christopher Davis and senior computer science major Duvall Smith. Other finalists included The Atlanta Beltline Hostel Inc., and Goza Tequila LLC.

Signal Wins Georgia College Press Association Awards
The staff of Georgia State University’s student newspaper, The Signal, took home a total of 15 awards at the Georgia College Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest Feb. 7 in Athens, Ga., recognizing excellence among student newspapers at Georgia colleges and universities. The Signal competed in Division A against some of the largest college newspapers in Georgia.
