The Georgia State University is recognizing more than 150 students for gradating in good standing from the Honors College.

The Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award in Computer Science recognizes a graduate student for outstanding teaching and service to the Computer Science Department.

This award is presented to the student who has most actively participated in professional activities within the community and who demonstrates high standards of professionalism.

In memory of Dr. Virgil Jacobs, former anatomist in the physical therapy program, this award is given to the student who best exemplifies the qualities of intelligence, compassion, fairness, honesty, and sincerity in addition to outstanding scholarly anatomical competence.

This award is given to a student or students who, through example, maintains the structure and integrity of the class. The recipient(s) demonstrates a strong commitment to the physical therapy profession, is an avid patient advocate, and is respected by faculty and peers.

This award is given to the individual who provides ongoing, dynamic leadership and guidance to his or her class.

This award recognizes the students who have made an outstanding contribution to the research efforts of the Department of Physical Therapy and who exhibit potential of becoming significant contributors to the field of physical therapy research.

This award is presented to a graduating student or students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit(s) a positive professional attitude and a willingness to serve the needs of classmates, the community, and the profession of respiratory therapy.

This award is given by the faculty to a graduating senior and master's candidate. The award recognizes a student(s) who has (have) displayed outstanding performance in clinical rotations.

Angela Smith (M.P.P. '15), was part of the Southeast regional winning team of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration's (NASPAA) 2015 Inaugural Student Simulation Competition on February 28, 2015. The daylong event brought together 45 teams of graduate students representing 93 participating NASPAA schools across the U.S. at five regional sites and challenged them to provide a locally led "bottom up" approach to health care reform.

The Spirit of Service award honors The 1913 Society member who worked the most events during the academic year.

The Rising Star award honors a 1913 Society member who has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills with only one year of service in The 1913 Society.

The Silver Shield award honors a 1913 Society member who exemplifies the organization's "service without self" motto while maintaining academic excellence, campus involvement and, above all, humility. It is The 1913 Society's highest honor.

The award, created in memory of Wanda Cardwell, honors the policy school's School of Social Work students who have exemplified courage, determination and perseverance in the completion of their goal, despite obstacles.

The Outstanding Masters of Social Work Student Award is presented to a graduating M.S.W. student who has demonstrated service to the school and embodiment of the community partnership concentration.

This award recognizes undergraduate and graduate Public Management and Policy students who, in the judgment of the faculty, have performed exceptionally well as interns.

Inceptors are current Georgia State University students who serve as orientation leaders and assist new students and their families during the Incept experience.

The 1913 Society - a student ambassador program established by the Office of the President - provides an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students to serve as official hosts and goodwill ambassadors for the university.

For her excellence both on and off the field, Georgia State softball player Callie Alford was named one of 10 national finalists for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award, the presenting organization announced Tuesday, April 7.

The Honors College Ambassadors corps is composed of a diverse and dedicated group of outstanding Honors College students who desire to hone their leadership skills, while also contributing to the Honors College legacy. These student leaders serve as representatives of the Honors College at a variety of internal and external events.

The Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate research conference which highlights and recognizes the research taking place across Georgia State's campus. The GSURC Student Planning Committee consists of nine Honors College students who assist with event planning and execution.
