H. Talmage Dobbs, Jr. Outstanding Student award is named after Mr. H. Talmage Dobbs, Jr., past chairman of the board of Life of Georgia and a Georgia State alum. The award is presented to the outstanding undergraduate finance major over the past year. The criteria used to determine the recipient include classroom performance and recommendations from past instructors.

Presented to doctoral students in recognition of outstanding scholarship.

Presented to a master's student in the School of Psychology program in recognition of initiative, leadership, advocacy and service to the school psychology profession and program.

Awarded for academic excellence and participation in the sports medicine graduate degree program.

Presented to a master's student in the School of Counseling program in recognition of initiative, leadership, advocacy and service to the school counseling profession and program.

The R. C. Williams, M.D., Honor Award was established to honor the late Dr. Williams, who founded the Hospital Administration program at Georgia State in 1952. The award is given to the graduate student in the Institute of Health Administration demonstrating outstanding leadership in the profession through university, community and work-related endeavors.

The Nell Hamilton Trotter Student Leadership Award recognizes a student who has enjoyed academic success while playing a significant role in campus leadership.

The Kell Award is given to the senior who has achieved the highest scholastic average with all course work taken at Georgia State.

The Academic Honors award is given annually to The 1913 Society member with the highest GPA.

This award, established in honor of Diane Caves, a graduate of the Andrew Young School's M.P.A. program who was tragically killed while working in Haiti, is given annually to a Master of Public Administration student who demonstrates academic excellence and a strong commitment to public service.

This award is given annually in honor of former Governor Joe Frank Harris, whose administration was noted for improvements in education, and who serves as a Distinguished Executive Fellow in the Andrew Young School. It is given to a Georgia resident student or students in the school based on academic merit.

The award was established to honor the late Dan E. Sweat, a Georgia State alumnus and long-time Atlanta civic leader. An assistantship is awarded annually to one or more deserving graduate students with career interests in public service.

The Outstanding Doctoral Student is awarded by the Andrew Young School's Department of Public Management and Policy faculty to a Ph.D. in Public Policy candidate who best exemplifies academic excellence and an ongoing commitment to scholarship in the field of public policy.

This award recognizes high academic standing and professional promise to both undergraduate and graduate students in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies' Department of Public Management and Policy.

The Graduate Academic Achievement Award is presented to the student who has maintained the highest grade point average for the calendar year in the Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree program.

The Excellence in Teaching award recognizes a student who, in the judgment of the Andrew Young School's Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology faculty, has performed exceptionally well in this area.

This merit-based scholarship is awarded to an exceptional student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in criminal justice in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.

This annual award was established in honor of Mark E. Schaefer, a professor of economics at Georgia State University, to recognize the student with the highest grade point average in the Master of Arts in Economics program.

The Student Leadership award is given annually to a student who exhibits exemplary leadership within the Andrew Young School's Department of Public Management and Policy. Leadership factors considered include involvement in student organizations and other student initiatives that benefit the department and attendance at PMAP career and professional research events. This student is an ambassador representing the policy school and PMAP department to the greater Atlanta community

The Best Research Paper Award is presented annually to a graduate student in the Public Management and Policy program, selected by a faculty committee. Student papers were nominated by faculty on topics ranging from privatization, human resource issues in the public and private sector, public finance and financial management.

The Economics Award is presented to an undergraduate at the Andrew Young School of Policy studies at Georgia State University who achieves the highest grade point average in economics courses above the 2000 level and demonstrates a commitment to the study of economics.

The Andrew Young School awards this honor to the top economics major studying intermediate microeconomics during the previous year.

The Economics Student Achievement Award signifies academic excellence and outstanding service in the economics student community. It is presented to an outstanding senior majoring in economics at Georgia State University.

The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes a student who, in the judgment of the faculty, has performed exceptionally well in teaching.

This award recognizes outstanding academic achievement in Georgia State University's International Economics and Modern Languages degree program.

The annual Quantitative Economics Award, established by alumnus Harold Ball, recognizes distinguished performance in quantitative economics.

The Andrew Young School Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes a student who, in the judgment of the school's Department of Economics faculty, has performed exceptionally well in the classroom.
