More than 150 undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for scholarships, fellowships and awards during the Georgia State University College of Arts and Sciences Honors Night on Thursday, April 13, 2017.

This award recognizes a graduating student or students with the highest GPA achieved in the respiratory therapy progam.

This award is given to a nutrition graduate student or students with outstanding academic performance and professional contributions.

This award, established in memory of James Ancil Lewis, honors his exemplary work in respiratory therapy: from his graduation in 1973 until his death in 1992. This award is given to a junior in the program who exemplifies Mr. Lewis' characteristics of service to others, particularly in clinical work and direct patient care.

This award is given to graduating students with a grade point average of 4.0 in the Physical Therapy program.

This award recognizes the students who have made an outstanding contribution to the research efforts of the Department of Physical Therapy and who exhibit potential of becoming significant contributors to the field of physical therapy research.

The Nursing Student Leadership Award recognizes a student who has demonstrated initiative, motivation, dedication, and strong commitment to a Georgia State nursing student program or organization. This award is given to a student who demonstrates leadership abilities both within and outside of Georgia State University.

This award recognizes students who have made outstanding research contributions, have become a role model for other students and have exhibited potential of becoming a significant contributor to the nursing profession.

This award is given by the faculty to a graduating senior and master's candidate. The award recognizes a student(s) who has (have) displayed outstanding performance in clinical rotations.

This award is presented to graduating students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a positive professional attitude and a willingness to serve the needs of classmates, the community, and the profession of respiratory therapy.

This award is presented to a graduating respiratory therapy student or students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a willingness to provide service to the department's outreach efforts.

This scholarship is awarded to a Family Nurse Practitioner student with high scholastic standing and the ability to lead others. In addition, this student must show a strong desire to enter family practice in a retail setting upon graduation.

Georgia State University recognizes an outstanding nutrition student or students each year for academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and potential as a future dietetics professional.

This award is given to an undergraduate student in the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions who has achieved a high level of academic excellence in the nutrition program.

This award is given to a Coordinated Program student who has displayed outstanding performance in the clinical setting.

This award is given to students who have demonstrated academic achievement, have strong leadership skills, and strong potential as future health IT professionals.

The American Society of Criminology's Ruth D. Peterson Fellowship for Racial and Ethnic Diversity is designed to encourage students of color, especially those from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in the field, to enter the field of criminology and criminal justice, and to facilitate the completion of their degrees.

This award is given annually in honor of former Ga. Gov. Joe Frank Harris, whose administration was noted for improvements in education, and who serves as a Distinguished Executive Fellow in the Andrew Young School. It is given to a Georgia resident student or students in the school based on academic merit.

The Kell Award for academic achievement is presented to students graduating from Georgia State University at the undergraduate level with the highest institutional grade-point average at the time of commencement.

The Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) Excellence for the Future Award is given to the highest scoring student in each law school class. Awards are given at the discretion of the faculty and in some cases two awards can be given for the same course.

This achievement is for Georgia State Law students who maintained a GPA of 3.8 or higher through the end of the Fall 2015 semester.

The scholarship fund was established by John P. Diercks to honor the memory of alumna, Claire Hammond Diercks. It is awarded based on scholastic achievement, leadership ability, active participation in student activities, and active member of Phi Chi Theta Chapter.

This annual award-sponsored by the RMI Alumni Club-recognizes a senior-level student majoring in risk management and insurance who has demonstrated academic excellence in coursework related to managing risk.

Established in 1975 by Mr. Michael C. Carlos in memory of Christopher Yannapoulous, to benefit students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

The late Dr. Floyd S. Harper joined Georgia State's faculty in 1958 and was instrumental in the creation of the Department of Risk Management and Insurance's Actuarial Science Program. This award is presented annually to a graduating senior in actuarial science in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement and character-qualities that Dr. Harper strove to develop in his students.

This scholarship is presented in memory of a prominent Atlanta-area real estate family to recognize superior academic achievement and potential. It may be awarded to either a graduate or an undergraduate student.

This fund provides support to doctoral students in good standing in the Real Estate Department at Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business. Candidates chosen by faculty nomination.
