The Anne M. Eaton Endowed Scholarship, created in honor of Anne M. Eaton, a member of the first class of Georgia State University Gerontology graduates in 1977, is awarded annually to an outstanding Gerontology graduate student.

The Al Baumstark Award in Chemistry was established by the faculty and alumni of the Chemistry Department and is an endowed fund in honor of organic chemistry Professor Al Baumstark. The Al Baumstark Award in Chemistry supports students pursuing doctoral degrees in chemistry and is inspired by Baumstark's commitment to increasing student diversity in science.

The Timothy Jon Bartness Memorial Award was established in memory of Dr. Timothy Jon Bartness (1953-2015) who joined the Biology faculty in 1988. Dr. Bartness was a Regents' Professor and founding director of the Center for Obesity Reversal. He was internationally celebrated for his research on obesity and metabolic physiology in addition to mentoring young scientists.

Clifvette Webb was selected as the 2018 recipient of the Georgia State Philosophy Department Arlene & Alvin Altman Endowment in Philosophy.

Matthew Delhey successfully defended his thesis to earn a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy in the fall of 2018. His thesis was titled "Machine Automation and the Critique of Abstract Labor in Hegel's Mature Social Theory." Delhey's thesis committee members were Dr. Sebastian Rand, Dr. Peter Lindsay, and Dr. Calvin Thomas. Delhey is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Toronto.

Georgia State Univesity College of Law recognized students with a 3.6 grade point average or higher during the Commencement and Hooding ceremony held on May 11, 2018.

Georgia State Masters Student Paul Fryfogle successfully defended his Philosophy MA thesis, "The Fragility of Convergence: Public Reason, Political Liberalism and Stability" Paul's committee members were Dr. Christie Hartley, Dr. Andrew Jason Cohen, and Dr. Bill Edmundson.

Eliah Perez was recently honored by Georgia State University with the Kell Award, given to the senior who has achieved the highest scholastic average for all course work taken at Georgia State.

lfeoluwa Afon was honored by Georgia State University with the Nell Hamilton Trotter Student Leadership Award, the highest student leadership award presented by the institution.

Jacinta McDonald, an Honors College student at Georgia State University who graduated during the summer of 2018, has been recognized with the Kell Award, given to the senior who has achieved the highest scholastic average for all course work taken at Georgia State.

This award, established in memory of James Ancil Lewis, honors his exemplary work in respiratory therapy: from his graduation in 1973 until his death in 1992. This award is given to a junior(s) in the program who exemplifies Mr. Lewis' characteristics of service to others, particularly in clinical work and direct patient care.

This award is presented to graduating students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a positive professional attitude and a willingness to serve the needs of classmates, the community, and the profession of respiratory therapy.
