Molecular Basis of Disease (MBD) Outstanding Fellow Award
Evan Fullerton, a doctoral student studying neuroscience at Georgia State University, has received a 2019-2020 Molecular Basis of Disease (MBD) Outstanding Fellow Award. This award is accorded on the basis of outstanding contributions to research, future promise as a researcher, and originality, imagination and significance of research.

Global Engagement Award from the Office of International Initiatives
Kelsi Quick, an undergraduate studying political science at Georgia State University, has won two research awards at the GSU Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC) for her paper entitled, "Double Standards? Approval Ratings of Male and Female Prime Ministers During National Security Crises." She was honored during the Spring 2020 semester by the College of Arts & Sciences for earning both awards during the 2019-20 academic year. Quick was awarded the first place Global Engagement Award from the Office of International Initiatives (OII) and second place in Social & Behavioral Sciences. The OII award is a new award that recognizes outstanding presentations on research or creative work addressing global or international issues. Ms. Quick won against 180 other student participants during the 14th annual GSURC, which took a virtual format in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research she presented is a result of two years of work under the supervision and mentorship of Dr. Ryan Carlin.
