This award is given to the occupational therapy student who has most actively participated in professional activities within the community, demonstrating high standards of professionalism, while maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Georgia State University Student Wins Philosophy Scholarship
Georgia State University student Nana Yaa Awere received the Arlene and Alvin Altman Scholarship for academic excellence. Awere, of Lawrenceville, is a junior majoring in Philosophy and Sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Arlene and Alvin Altman Scholarship is awarded to philosophy majors based on academic excellence. Preference is given to students from segments of American society whose members historically have been denied the equal educational opportunity due to prejudice and discrimination. The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Georgia State University Student Wins Award for Conference Presentation
Georgia State University student Aisha Okmi was awarded the Best Poster Award at the Symposium "EQ20: Beyond Graphene 2D Materials - Synthesis, Properties and Device Applications." Okmi of Atlanta is a Ph.D. student in the Physics & Astronomy Department in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Symposium was held during the 2021 Fall Meeting of the Materials Research Society (MRS). She won the award for her poster entitled "How Surface Tension Matters in Polymer-Free Graphene Transfer." The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Georgia State University William C. Cotterman Outstanding Student Award
Each year, the Department of Computer Information Systems honors the graduate student in the Master of Science in Information Systems program with the most outstanding academic record. The award is named for William C. Cotterman, the first chairman of the CIS department at Georgia State University. Winners receive a cash award, and their names are engraved on a plaque that hangs in the CIS department lobby.

Georgia State University Ph.D. Student Wins International Research Foundation Grant
Georgia State University Ph.D. student Josh Sullivan has received The International Research Foundation for English Language Education's Doctor Dissertation Grant. Sullivan will use the grant money to fund research on how English Language Learners can benefit from improved English Language Teaching programs at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs). Sullivan, a doctoral student in Applied Linguistics in the College of Arts & Sciences, is focusing his research on improving the experiences of English Language Learners at HBCUs. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Korean-American Business Center Leadership Award
The annual Korean-American Business Center (KABC) Leadership Award is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student studying computer information systems who has expressed interest or demonstrated high potential for leadership careers in technology. The KABC is a departmental center, organized within the Center for Research in Information Systems (CRIS) and housed in the Computer Information Systems (CIS) Department in Georgia State's Robinson College of Business. It is a boundary-spanning organization between the CIS Department and the Korean business community in the United States and Korea.

Floyd S. Harper Actuarial Science Award
The late Dr. Floyd S. Harper joined Georgia State's faculty in 1958 and was instrumental in the creation of the Department of Risk Management and Insurance's Actuarial Science Program. This award is presented annually to a graduating senior in actuarial science in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement and character- qualities that Dr. Harper strove to develop in his students.

E. A. Isakson Scholarship
The E. A. Isakson Scholarship established by the Atlanta Board of Realtors is in honor of Mr. Ed A. Isakson, past president of the Atlanta Board of Realtors. One or more scholarships will be provided each year for outstanding students majoring in real estate. The criteria for selection are need, scholastic achievement, and expression of a sincere interest in a professional career in real estate.
