During the course of a year, approximately one-third of the College's Ph.D. students teach one or more course sections as Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs). These awards are given to recognize those GTAs with outstanding teaching records and performance in the classroom during the preceding calendar year.

The scholarship fund was established by John P. Diercks to honor the memory of alumna, Claire Hammond Diercks. It is awarded based on scholastic achievement, leadership ability, active participation in student activities, and active member of Phi Chi Theta Chapter.

The Carl Manuelshagen History Award is awarded to students in honor of historian and theologist Carl Mauelshagen. The award is granted to an outstanding graduating history major who has completed three freshman history survey courses and has maintained a minimum grade-point average in upper-level history courses of 3.5. This award supports students pursuing doctoral degrees in chemistry. The award was established by the faculty and alumni of the Chemistry department in honor of Dr. Al Baumstark, organic chemist and former department chair, for his commitment to increasing student diversity in science. The award is given to an exceptional student for whom the study of writing or literature has made a significant impact. This fund was created to honor the legacy of Eleanor Mary Pratt, who had a deep spiritual faith and a love of literature, the English language and the fine arts. The James E. Routh Outstanding English Major designation is the most prestigious award given to an English major in the College of Arts & Sciences each year, with awardees evaluated for outstanding academics, writing, talents and other characteristics such as enthusiasm, curiosity and thoughtfulness. Georgia State University student Alesha Bond has received the Theresa Nash Bernstein Scholarship in International Travel. Bond, of Deer Park, N.Y., is a Ph.D. student in psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences. Former Dean Lauren B. Adamson and her husband, Walter L. Adamson, established this scholarship for high achieving students who have not had the opportunity to travel abroad for study. The scholarship was established in honor of Lauren Adamson's mother, Teresa Nash Bernstein, a teacher, artist, and world traveler. This award is made annually to an outstanding graduate student in the Department of Psychology who has excelled in their professional development, teaching, and service. It is named for Richard Morrell, a talented clinical graduate student, who died tragically in an airplane crash in Africa in 2003. Georgia State University student Michelle Fox has received the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award in psychology. Fox, of Deerfield, IL, is a psychology Ph.D. student in the College of Arts & Sciences. This award is made annually to a graduate student who has shown outstanding development and ability in the use of statistics in psychology. It is named for Percival Rogers Bakeman (1882-1932), a graduate of Brown University, who was regarded as something of a polymath. He was a professor at Shanghai College, where he distinguished himself as the only American to lecture routinely in Chinese. The John Warkentin Memorial Award is made annually to a graduate student showing outstanding potential in psychotherapy as well as financial need. John Warkentin was a psychiatrist in Atlanta who died in 1983. He and his wife, who was a clinical psychologist, were strong supporters of the psychotherapy program in the 1970s.

Georgia State University student Leigh Holbrook has received the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award from the Department of Religious Studies.

Georgia State University student Melvin Douglas has received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the Department of Religious Studies in recognition of academic achievement.

The Sara M. Hunt Clinical Excellence Award is given to a Coordinated Program student who has displayed outstanding performance in the clinical setting.

Georgia State University student Chakravarthy Garlapati has been awarded the Cellular & Molecular Biology & Physiology Award for excellent work in the field. Garlapati works in the Department of Biology at Georgia State and is involved in molecular biology, cell biology and cancer research. Garlapati is also working on a research project titled "Discovery of Molecular Signature Responsible for TNBC Racial Disparity in AA vs EA."

The Respiratory Therapy Student Service Award is presented to a graduating respiratory therapy student or students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a willingness to provide service to the department's outreach efforts.

Georgia State University student Nya Harris has received the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award in recognition of academic achievement. Harris, of Augusta, is a Sociology major in the College of Arts & Sciences. This award recognizes a graduating Respiratory Therapy student or students with the highest GPA achieved in the respiratory therapy progam.

The Faculty Recognition Award is presented to graduating respiratory therapy students who, in the opinion of the faculty, exhibit a positive professional attitude and a willingness to serve the needs of classmates, the community, and the profession of respiratory therapy.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is exclusive to students who meet the society's high academic standards of excellence and is only open to students around the country and internationally who attend business schools like Robinson that are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

This award, established in memory of James Ancil Lewis, honors his exemplary work in respiratory therapy: from his graduation in 1973 until his death in 1992. This award is given to a junior(s) in the program who exemplifies Mr. Lewis' characteristics of service to others, particularly in clinical work and direct patient care.

The late Dr. Eli A. Zubay co-founded Georgia State University's Actuarial Science Program in 1958. This award recognizes academic excellence and is presented annually to the undergraduate actuarial science major with the highest overall grade-point average. Recipients must have accumulated at least 60, but no more than 90 semester credit hours, and must have completed at least 12 semester credit hours of actuarial science coursework with no grade lower than a "B."
