The Donald Ahearn Endowed Fellowship in Applied and Environmental Microbiology was established in honor of Dr. Ahearn becoming a Research Professor Emeritus. The fellowship recognizes his contributions in instruction, research and service in the development of applied and environmental microbiology programs at Georgia State University.

The Outstanding Position Paper Award recognizes Model UN students who successfully convey knowledge of their assigned country and provide effective recommendations to address global problems. Position papers are submitted before the Model UN Conference and are a critical component of students' pre-conference preparation. Six Georgia State University students were recognized with the award this year.

The Ethel Illges Woodruff Fellowship in Southern History is awarded to a graduate student who intends to pursue the masters program with a concentration in southern history.

The Jenny Thurston Fellowship and Award in Heritage Preservation is an annual award and internship with the Atlanta Urban Design Commission. The fellowship is given to an outstanding historic preservationist in Atlanta.

The Ralf F. Munster Fellowship is given to an outstanding philosophy graduate student. The award honors Ralf F. Munster, philosophy chair from 1955 to 1976.

The Sally Monsour Graduate Fellowship in Music Education recognizes a music education graduate student. The fellowship was created in honor of Dr. Sally Monsour, one of the founding professors of music education in the School of Music.

Rachel Luu, a Geosciences major in the Georgia State University Honors College presented her research at the Association of American Geographers Annual Meeting in Chicago this spring.

The Dan Sweat Dissertation Fellowship supports doctoral students in completing dissertation research that addresses an urban, community or education issue and has policy relevance. It was established in honor of civic leader and Georgia State alumnus Dan E. Sweat.

The University Fellows honor was established by Georgia State University to support doctoral students engaged in the research of faculty recruited to join the Andrew Young School under the Second Century Initiative. The fellowship is awarded to outstanding students pursuing a Ph.D. in economics, public policy or criminal justice and criminology.

This fellowship is awarded annually to a deserving graduate student with academic and research interests in public finance, financial regulatory policy impact on national, regional and local economics, or public management. It honors the former state banking commissioner and alumnus E. D. Dunn.

Atlanta Legal Aid Society fellows are MPA or MPP students selected annually to work with the organization to get a well-rounded introduction to the nation's critical legal issues - from public benefits to complex mortgage litigation. They assist in researching and developing program administration and policy development.

The Legislative Budget Fellowship, in partnership with the Georgia Senate Budget and Evaluation Office (SBEO), combines a paid internship opportunity with a graduate assistantship through the Department of Public Management and Policy. This fellowship is awarded to a deserving student competitively.

St. Vincent De Paul fellows gain an opportunity to work at a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower people, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or faith, to achieve self-sufficiency.

UPS Fellows gain an opportunity to learn about the work of the UPS Foundation in conjunction with their graduate studies.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Fellowship is a competitively awarded internship for selected economics students to experience and contribute to the formation of monetary policy.

Four students were celebrated at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University for receiving this fellowship in 2014-2015. It was established by R. Charles Loudermilk, Sr., to honor the life and legacy of Jean Childs Young by providing fellowships for graduate students in the Andrew Young School.

Doctoral student and a researcher at the for Center for Excellence in Brand and Customer Management coauthored a paper with Center executive director V. Kumar and Texas Christian University professor Robert P. Leone.

Francis Annor, a chronic disease epidemiologist at the Georgia Department of Public Health, successfully defended his dissertation titled 'Psychosocial and Oxidative Stress and Health of Adults' this week. He will be the fourth PhD graduate from the School of Public Health.

Honors College junior Javier Tovar was named as an author in the published paper, Proteomic Analysis of the Acidocalcisome, an Organelle Conserved from Bacteria to Human Cells" in the peer reviewed journal PLOS Pathogens.

Honors College freshman Charbel Aoun published his research paper, "Using Tableau as a Data Visualization Tool to Explore Reoccurring Cancer Trends" in the Undergraduate Research Journal for the Human Sciences.
