Georgia State Student Grace Monson Receives International Psychology Scholarship
Georgia State University student Grace Monson recently received the Eleanor McEdwards International Opportunity Scholarship. Monson, of Gainesville, Ga., is a Bachelor's student in Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Eleanor McEdwards International Opportunity Scholarship is a study abroad scholarship awarded annually to an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in the College of Arts and Sciences. The scholarship was established by Colleen McEdwards and Scott Burnside in honor of her mother, Eleanor McEdwards, who was dedicated to creating and promoting opportunities for international travel and study among young people. The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skill-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Georgia State University student Alfred Boakye recently received a travel scholarship to attend the Gerontological Society of America Meetings and the preconference workshop, "Pathways to Equity-Based Aging Research and Practice." The travel scholarship was awarded by the organization Black in Gerontology and Geriatrics (BIGG) in collaboration with the American Federation for Aging Research. The pre-conference workshop will convene advanced students and early career researchers, practitioners, and advocates interested in addressing the harm that can be perpetuated through faulty research methods and practices.
