Providence Blalock is the 2024 recipient of the Kay Chester Scholarship for Teachers in Training, which supports a woman pursuing a degree in teacher preparation who has the challenge of raising a family while furthering her education.

Jordan Pearson is the 2024 recipient of the Felicia and Rodney Mayfield Scholarship, which recognizes a deserving undergraduate student in the College of Education & Human Development.

Kinesiology doctoral student Rebecca Ban is one of 12 Georgia State University students who received one of the university's internal grant awards for dissertations.

The Eleanor McEdwards International Opportunity Scholarship is a study abroad scholarship awarded annually to an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in the College of Arts and Sciences. The scholarship was established by Dr. Colleen McEdwards and Scott Burnside in honor of her mother, Eleanor McEdwards, who was dedicated to creating and promoting opportunities for international travel and study among young people. Because of Eleanor's dedication, Dr. McEdwards was able to participate in study abroad programs throughout the former Soviet Union, and then went on to become an anchor and correspondent for CNN International.

Georgia State University student Girish Hemrajani recently received the Allen and Eleanor Hollingsworth Scholarship. The Hollingsworth Scholarship supports first-year students in the master's degree program in gerontology. Students must have an outstanding academic record and show a commitment to improving the quantity and quality of life for older people through internship experience, volunteering, or other experiences.

The first John Lewis Scholarship, which was endowed at Georgia State University in 2022 to honor the legacy of the long-time U.S. Representative and civil rights icon, has been awarded to Mitchell Harris, a Class of 2026 political science undergraduate student.
