Established by College of Education alumnus Dr. Jennifer Greene to honor a doctoral student in Language and Literacy Education with an emphasis on English as a Second Language education. The recipient will receive a $500 cash award.

Presented to doctoral students in recognition of teaching, mentoring and modeling with care and compassion. The recipients of thi award will receive a $400 scholarship.

In recognition of a commitment to multicultural issues and social injustice through advocacy and service. The recipient of this award will receive a $500 scholarship.

Presented to an elementary or middle school physical education student in honor of Dr. Margaret Jones to recognize her extraordinary achievements in preservice and continuing education of physical education teachers. The recipient of this award will a $1,000 scholarship.

Dr. Sidney E. Harris served as Dean of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University from 1997-2004. He and his wife Dr. Mary S. Harris are keen supporters of the college's international initiative. It is their stated desire to provide scholarship funding for students to underwrite a meaningful study abroad opportunity.

In honor of Mrs. Nita Robinson, J. Mack Robinson endowed The Nita Robinson Scholars Program for $1 million for students to study global business.

The Michael & Cynthia Shannon Scholarship is open to Robinson College of Business students with no study abroad experience and a GPA of at least 3.0.

The purpose of the Mary Kathleen Berry Scholarship is to provide support to Georgia State graduate and undergraduate students in good standing to pursue a study abroad program, including but not limited to the "Global Business and Media" study abroad program.

Ms. Michaud established this scholarship for undergraduate students in the Robinson College of Business to help those wishing to include international travel in their program.

The Spurgeon Richardson Scholarship in Hospitality Leadership is in honor of Spurgeon Richardson, a well-known leader in Atlanta's hospitality community. Richardson served as president and CEO of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau for 17 years. This scholarship is presented to a hospitality major based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, and work experience.

Robert R. King Memorial Scholarship in Hospitality & Tourism is in memory of Robert King, a leader in Georgia's hospitality industry as president of the Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association. It is presented to a hospitality major based on academic achievement, school and community involvement, and work experience.

Established by Felicia and Rodney Mayfield, this $1,000 scholarship is given to a deserving undergraduate student.

Given to a graduate student in recognition of leadership, scholarship and activities in urban education settings and demonstrated promise to continue improving the educational context and/or student development and learning in these settings. The recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Presented to a student enrolled in a graduate program who demonstrates a pattern of scholarship and commitment of service to the university, community and profession. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

North Point Hospitality Group, Inc., based in Atlanta, was founded in 1978 by JK Patel. This scholarship is based on academic achievement, hotel career aspirations, work experience and leadership in student organizations.

Established by College of Education alumni Dr. Melvin Hayden and Dr. Lucy Welzant Hayden to honor their parents. This $1,000 award is presented to a doctoral student or graduate whose dissertation exhibits originality, clarity and effectiveness in the presentation of ideas, quality writing and contributes to the future scholarly productivity of his or her field.

Given to a student in special education for genuine caring and involvement with individuals with an intellectual disability that demonstrates an exceptional level of commitment. The recipient of this award will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

In recognition of outstanding research contributions to the field of educational psychology. The recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The Margaret Lupo Scholarship in Restaurant Management is in memory of Margaret Lupo, founder and owner of Mary Mac's Tea Room. Margaret Lupo was a leading restaurant entrepreneur and known for her southern hospitality. It is awarded to a student who is majoring in hospitality with a restaurant management focus. Selection is also based on academic achievement, work experience and restaurant industry involvement.

The John Jordan Scholarship in Hospitality Club Management was established in honor of John Jordan, a national leader in the private club industry. Jordan was the general manager/CEO of the Cherokee Town and Country Club for over 46 years. This scholarship is presented to a hospitality major based on career interest in club management, academic achievement, experience.

The Hunter Realty Scholarship in Hotel Development was established by Hunter Realty, a leading hotel broker since 1978. In addition to recognizing academic performance and work experience, the scholarship gives preference to students with career plans in hotel development and double-majors in hospitality and real estate or finance.

Located in Atlanta, Hotel Equities is a full service hotel management company, providing awarding-winning management, development and consulting for hotels throughout the United States. The founder of Hotel Equities is GSU alumnus, Fred Cerrone. This scholarship is based on academic achievement, career goals, work experience and school and community involvement.

This scholarship was established by the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance. Founded in 2009, AHA provides a forum for networking and professional development to Atlanta-area hotel owners, developers, operators, franchisors and professional service providers. This scholarship is presented to a hospitality major based on career interest in hotel development or management, academic achievement, school and community involvement, and work experience.

JHM Hotels, Inc. established the Rama Scholarship for the American Dream with a $1,000,001 endowment. The five Rama brothers, principals in the company, emigrated from India to pursue their American Dream. It began with the ownership of one lodging property and grew into a successful operation of 42 properties and more than 1,500 associates. The fund, established on the 25th anniversary of the brothers' first hotel purchase, encourages others to create their own American Dream. Since its inception in 1998 the Rama Scholarship Fund has awarded $666,300 in scholarships to 406 recipients.

The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) is committed to building tomorrow's hotel industry -- and the talent to fuel it. AH&LAEF Cecil B Day Scholarship is funded by the AH&LEF and recipients are chosen by faculty from Robinson College of Business, Cecil B Day School of Hospitality.

Each year, the Georgia State University Honors College awards a variety of scholarships to current students. This year, the Honors College awarded scholarships to ten exemplary students.

Established by Dr. Beverly J. Armento to honor doctoral students who have a commitment to improving pedagogy in teaching and teacher education. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 cash award.

Established by Bradford and Patricia Ferrer to honor a student majoring and excelling in middle childhood education, with a focus on teach preparation. The recipients will receive a $2,00 and $1,000 scholarship, respectively.
