Two Georgia State University Honors College students have received places for Fulbright Summer Institutes, one of the most prestigious and selective summer scholarship programs operating world-wide. Samaria Henry, a junior from Rex, Ga., studying political science has been awarded a place at the University of Bristol. Ryan Harris, a junior from Woodstock, Ga., studying film and media has been awarded a place at the University of Birmingham. The Summer Institutes form part of the U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Commission's work to promote leadership, learning and empathy among nations through educational exchange.

School of Public Health master's degree student, Michelle D'Amico received the Georgia Health Foundation Scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year.

Each year, the Georgia State University Honors College awards a variety of scholarships to current students. This year, the Honors College awarded scholarships to twenty-seven exemplary students.

More than 100 Georgia State University students received scholarships to study abroad during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Corey C. Gray, a Georgia State University student and president of the university's Student Government Association, was presented a $10,000 scholarship from JC Penney and the Ellison Foundation during the Emerging 100 of Atlanta's Emerging Leaders Awards and Scholarship Gala on April 28, 2017.

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hospitality Scholarship was established through a collaboration between the hotel and the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality Administration in Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business, commemorating the hotel's 50th anniversary.

Five students of Georgia State University's Perimeter College received a $4,000 State Farm Scholarship. The scholarship is for students with at least a 3.0 GPA or higher.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is the largest private scholarship in the nation for students transferring from two-year community colleges to four-year institutions that award bachelor's degrees.

This scholarship recognizes individuals who are both critical thinkers and caring, competent practitioners -- characteristics personified by Professor Gordon Cummings.

This award was established in memory of Maymi Walker Chandler in recognition of her commitment to the professional development of women. The award recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership.

This award was established to honor Mrs. Byrdine F. Lewis for whom the Georgia State University School of Nursing was named in 2003. Throughout her nursing career, Mrs. Lewis exemplified a dedication to clinical practice and quality patient care. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate nursing students who have a strong academic record and who are committed to clinical practice in a hospital setting.

This award was established in memory of Merle Lott, who was Director of Nursing for the DeKalb County Health Department and a dedicated public health nurse in Georgia for over 30 years. It recognizes students who have demonstrated academic excellence and plan to pursue a career in public health nursing.

This scholarship is awarded by the CVS Health Foundation to students in good academic standing, interested in becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner and interns or volunteers his/her time in an underserved population.

The Army Nurse Corps Association's scholarship program supports nursing education through scholarship funding to worthy students who are U.S. citizens in an accredited program in baccalaureate or graduate nursing, anesthesia, or related healthcare field.

These scholarships are funded by Kaiser Permanente, one of America's leading health care organizations, and are given to undergraduate students in recognition of academic achievement.

Noa Erlitzki, a Georgia State University Honors College student, has been named a Barry M. Goldwater Scholar, one of 240 recipients of the prestigious award nationwide.

This scholarship was established in memory of Daniel Sansone, son of Joseph Sansone, founder and CEO of Pediatria Healthcare, LLC and former advisory board member of the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions. The Daniel J. Sansone Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student interested in pediatric nursing or respiratory therapy.

The Oby T. and Ann C. Brewer Scholarship is awarded to a full time student who is currently taking courses on the Newton Campus of Georgia State University's Perimeter College. Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

Eight Perimeter College students received the Assistance League of Atlanta Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to current Perimeter students who are U.S. citizens with at least a 2.5 GPA and who are active in the community.

The Sofia Romelia Castillo-Adamo scholarship is awarded to current Perimeter College students who are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 grade point average or higher for consideration.

This scholarship was for current Perimeter College students who have completed at least two college-level math courses on the Decatur Campus. Applicants must have a 2.50 GPA or higher to be considered.

The Public Management and Policy (PMAP) Scholarship is awarded annually to one or more outstanding incoming M.P.A. and M.P.P. students. Recipients must maintain full-time and good standing status in the graduate program and serve as graduate research assistants in the PMAP department.

The Georgia Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS (TM) selected Cicely Anderson and Shobit Gupta, Master of Science in Real Estate students, for $1,000 academic scholarships which were awarded at the fall leadership breakfast.

Gregory Boler, MSRE student, received a $5,000 scholarship from the CoreNet Global Atlanta Chapter at its education forum on August 18. GSU President Becker delivered the event's keynote address.

Alexandra Borsdorf, a Georgia State University Perimeter College student, received the fourth annual Georgia Society of Mayflower Descendants Honors College Scholarship. The $1,500 scholarship is for students in the Georgia State University Honors College at Perimeter College who are currently history majors or intend to major in history upon transferring to a four-year institution.

College of Education & Human Development student Adrian Neely was one of 40 doctoral students from across the country chosen to participate in the new Health Policy Research Scholars program.
