Georgia State University

North Point Hospitality Group, Inc., based in Atlanta, was founded in 1978 by JK Patel. The company owns, develops, and manages brand defining hotels in key business markets and leisure destinations. This scholarship is based on academic achievement, hotel career aspirations, work experience and leadership in student organizations.

The R. J. Knobel Scholarship was established upon Dr. Roland "Knob" Knobel's retirement in 1985, after teaching in the institute since 1970. This award is given to MHA students based on academic performance, and to recognize those who have achieved distinction through professional and community activities.

JHM Hotels, Inc. established the Rama Scholarship for the American Dream with a $1,000,001 endowment. The five Rama brothers, principals in the company, emigrated from India to pursue their American Dream. It began with the ownership of one lodging property and grew into a successful operation of 40 properties with 6,520 rooms and more than 1,500 associates. The fund, established on the 25th anniversary of the brothers' first hotel purchase, encourages others to create their own American Dream.

The Michael & Cynthia Shannon Scholarship is open to Robinson College of Business students with no study abroad experience and a GPA of at least 3.0.

The purpose of this fund is to provide Robinson College of Business students with no previous international experience an opportunity to travel abroad. Students must be in good academic standing.

This scholarship was established in 1997 as the Mills B. Lane/Nationsbank (now Bank of America) Scholarship to benefit students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

In honor of Mrs. Nita Robinson, J. Mack Robinson endowed The Nita Robinson Scholars Program for $1 million. The scholarships are awarded to students to further their understanding of the global business environment.

The purpose of this fund is to provide support to Robinson College of Business undergraduate students, in good standing, to pursue a study abroad program. Students should have no previous international travel experience.

J. Mack Robinson College of Business Scholarship Fund

The Max G. Holland Memorial Scholarship is presented annually to the student with the highest grade-point average after completing at least 30 hours in the CAHME-accredited graduate program in health administration. The scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Max Holland, who was on the faculty of the institute from 1976 to 1989.

McKinney Scholarship

Annually, in honor of Dr. Kathryn C. Buckner, PriceWaterhouseCoopers select an outstanding student to receive a scholarship based on accounting achievements and application to or enrollment in the Masters of Professional Accountancy or Masters of Taxation programs at Georgia State University.

Originally established in 2012 by alumnus Rene Diaz as the Diaz Foods Scholarship, the scholarship was renamed in 2014 to honor the memory of Mr. Diaz's father, Julio Rene Diaz. The scholarship is now known as the Julio Rene Diaz and Diaz Foods Scholarship, and provides support for an undergraduate student majoring in any discipline within the Robinson College of Business.

The John W. Cook Scholarship is given to a Master's of Professional Accountancy student with high academic achievement, in honor of Dr. John W. Cook.

The Atlanta Chapter of Information Systems Audit and Control Association offers this scholarship to a student enrolled at a University System of Georgia institution. The recipient must demonstrate high academic achievement and a commitment to pursuing a career in information technology.

The John Jordan Scholarship in Hospitality Club Management was established in honor of John Jordan, a national leader in the private club industry. Jordan was the general manager/CEO of the Cherokee Town and Country Club for over 46 years. This scholarship is presented to a hospitality major based on career interest in club management, academic achievement and experience.

The John F. Euart, Jr. Family Scholarship was established in 2013 by GSU alumus John F. Euart, Jr. to provide financial support for deserving students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hotel Leadership Scholarship was established through a partnership by Hyatt Regency Atlanta for the hotel's 50th anniversary celebration in May 2017 to provide opportunities for young leaders pursuing degrees in hospitality.

The Grant Thornton Academic Excellence Scholarship was established by by Grant Thornton, the 6th largest U.S. accounting and advisory organization.

The John B. White, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established in 2018 by Georgia's Own Foundation to support undergraduate students in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

Georgia CIO Leadership Association Scholarship

In honor of George A. Chance III, who earned a master's degree in accounting from Georgia State University, this scholarship is awarded to a student demonstrating high academic achievement and entering the Master of Professional Accountancy program.

The Dr. Neda Barqawi and Dr. Khalil Hamied Scholarship was established in 2016 by Georgia State alumna Neda Barqawi to provide financial support for students majoring in any discipline within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

The Dr. William H. Langdon and Family Scholarship was established in 2015 by Georgia State alumnus William H. Langdon to provide financial support for students majoring in any discipline within the J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

The Ernst & Young Academic Excellence Scholarship is given to three outstanding undergraduate students by Ernst & Young, one of the "Big Four" accounting and consulting firms globally.
