Founded in 2009, AHA provides a forum for networking and professional development to Atlanta-area hotel owners, developers, operators, franchisors and professional service providers. Dean's Excellence Award in Early Childhood Special Education in Memory of Ann Dixon Demonet
Whitney Campbell received the Dean's Excellence Award in Early Childhood Special Education in Memory of Ann Dixon Demonet from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. Ann Dixon Demonet attended Georgia State and received a master's degree in special education. After graduating, she taught special education in Georgia and Michigan, where she was known by all as an exceptional educator. While living in Georgia, she was recognized by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as an outstanding educator in the Atlanta area. This award was established by Seth Leibler and Ann Parkman and is given to a student pursuing a graduate degree in special education with a concentration in early childhood special education.

Three students received the College of Education & Human Development Scholarship from Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development (CEHD) as part of its annual Scholars Celebration. This scholarship recognizes individuals with outstanding accomplishments in the CEHD. The Dr. Colquitt L. "Buck" Chandler Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established by the CLC Foundation in memory of Dr. Chandler, a successful Atlanta dentist, real estate investor, and philanthropist. The scholarship is awarded to Ph.D. candidates in the Department of Real Estate selected by a committee that includes the department chair.
