Georgia State University student Scarlett Mayoralgo has been awarded the Robert L. Blakely Endowed Scholarship in Anthropology. Mayoralgo, of Centerville, is a senior anthropology major in the College of Arts & Sciences. The Robert L. Blakely Endowed Scholarship in Anthropology recognizes an anthropology senior who shows strong potential in the field of anthropology. The scholarship is given in memory of Dr. Blakely's contribution to anthropological education.

Georgia State University student Savannah Setter has been awarded the Jeremy Gillen Memorial Scholarship. Setter, of Fayetteville, is a senior anthropology major in the College of Arts & Sciences. The Jeremy Gillen Memorial Scholarship in Anthropology recognizes a senior major who shows strong potential in the field of anthropology. The scholarship is given in memory of Mr. Gillen and his enthusiasm for anthropology.

This award is named after Mr. H. Talmage Dobbs, Jr., past chairman of the board of Life of Georgia and a Georgia State alum. The award is presented to the outstanding undergraduate finance major over the past year. The criteria used to determine the recipient include classroom performance and recommendations from past instructors.

2020 Eli A. Zubay Actuarial Science Award

The late Dr. Eli A. Zubay co-founded Georgia State University's Actuarial Science Program in 1958. This award recognizes academic excellence and is presented annually to the undergraduate actuarial science major with the highest overall grade-point average. Recipients must have accumulated at least 60, but no more than 90 semester credit hours, and must have completed at least 12 semester credit hours of actuarial science coursework with no grade lower than a "B."

2020 Floyd S. Harper Actuarial Science Award

The late Dr. Floyd S. Harper joined Georgia State's faculty in 1958 and was instrumental in the creation of the Department of Risk Management and Insurance's Actuarial Science Program. This award is presented annually to a graduating senior in actuarial science in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement and character- qualities that Dr. Harper strove to develop in his students.

Each year, the Department of Computer Information Systems honors the graduate student in the Master of Science in Information Systems program with the most outstanding academic record. The award is named for William C. Cotterman, the first chairman of the CIS department at Georgia State University. Winners receive a cash award, and their names are engraved on a plaque that hangs in the CIS department lobby.

It is based on academic achievement, potential for leadership and service to the university and community.

The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies presented various awards to recognize the achievements of undergraduate and graduate students during its 23rd Annual Honors Day Ceremony on April 11, 2019 in the Student Center Ballroom. The ceremony also included a presentation of the 2019 Andrew Young School Excellence in Teaching Award to Fred P. Brooks, associate professor in the School of Social Work.
