The Borden D. Dent Excellence in Cartography award recognizes students' accomplishments in cartography and is named in memory of Dr. Dent, a Georgia State professor emeritus and former chairman of the Department of Geography and Anthropology.

Georgia State University student Brian A. Spann has received the Outstanding English Major Award. Spann received the award for his outstanding work in English throughout his time at Georgia State.

The Joseph O. and Louise P. Baylen Scholarship was created to support undergraduate students in good academic standing who are enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences and are pursuing an academic program of study in the History Department.

The Atlanta Bar Foundation Ginny and Kelly Smith Tax Clinic Award is given to outstanding Georgia State Law students who serve in the college's Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. The clinic serves the community by representing taxpayers who are unable to afford legal representation in federal income or employment tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.

The Award for Excellence in the Study of Health Law recognizes high performance in the field of health law at Georgia State University's College of Law.

The Al Baumstark Award in Chemistry supports undergraduate chemistry students conducting research in their junior or senior year, especially students who plan to pursue graduate school.

The Bailey M. Wade Memorial Scholarship is awarded to support graduate students who demonstrate need, merit, and career goals in keeping with those manifested in the life of Bailey M. Wade during his life and tenure with the psychology department.

The Johnnie W. Prothro Academic Excellence Award is given to an undergraduate student in the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions who has achieved a high level of academic excellence in the nutrition program.

Georgia State University student Nana Yaa Awere received the Arlene and Alvin Altman Scholarship for academic excellence. Awere, of Lawrenceville, is a junior majoring in Philosophy and Sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Arlene and Alvin Altman Scholarship is awarded to philosophy majors based on academic excellence. Preference is given to students from segments of American society whose members historically have been denied the equal educational opportunity due to prejudice and discrimination. The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Georgia State University student Aisha Okmi was awarded the Best Poster Award at the Symposium "EQ20: Beyond Graphene 2D Materials - Synthesis, Properties and Device Applications." Okmi of Atlanta is a Ph.D. student in the Physics & Astronomy Department in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Symposium was held during the 2021 Fall Meeting of the Materials Research Society (MRS). She won the award for her poster entitled "How Surface Tension Matters in Polymer-Free Graphene Transfer." The College of Arts and Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.

Georgia State University Ph.D. student Josh Sullivan has received The International Research Foundation for English Language Education's Doctor Dissertation Grant. Sullivan will use the grant money to fund research on how English Language Learners can benefit from improved English Language Teaching programs at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs). Sullivan, a doctoral student in Applied Linguistics in the College of Arts & Sciences, is focusing his research on improving the experiences of English Language Learners at HBCUs. The College of Arts & Sciences provides a skills-based liberal arts and sciences education for Atlanta's diverse, next-generation workforce.
