Sean Keenan Wins Best Special Events Reporter/Editor Award at the Southeast Journalism Conference

Sean Keenan, of Johns Creek, a student of Georgia State University, won the first-place Best Special Events Reporter/Editor award at the Southeast Journalism Conference, held during February at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss.

Keenan has written for The Signal, the student newspaper of Georgia State University.

The Best Special Event Reporter/Editor award at the Southeast Journalism Conference is judged on the submission of up to three news or features stories covering a single issue or event unique to a specific campus.

Additionally, in the team championship, The Signal placed first, beating out college newspaper teams from across the Southeastern United States.

The SEJC is composed of more than 45 member colleges and universities across the Southeast, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
