Public Health Student Matthew Jackson Successfully Defends Ph.D. Dissertation

Matthew Jackson, a doctoral student at the School of Public Health at Georgia State University, successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation this spring on Gender Disparities in Receiving Diabetes-specific Healthcare Services.

Through his analysis, Jackson of Stockbridge determined that males were less likely to visit the physician for their diabetes care and that a lack of a health insurance plan was shown to reduce the likelihood that males would receive the appropriate care overall.
