Public Health Student Joseph Bryan Successfully Defends Ph.D. Dissertation

2017 Apr 19

Joseph Bryan, a doctoral student at the School of Public Health at Georgia State University, successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation this spring on Bicycling for Transportion: Health and Destination.

Bryan of Atlanta sought to assess if bicyclist typology was associated with health and the indirect effect of bicyclist typology on health through physical activity and commute bicycling.

Through his research, Bryan determined that urban environments that make physical activity, including commute bicycling, more comfortable for a larger proportion of the population may be a potential important health intervention.
