Ph.D. Candidate Steven Anderson Receives the Provost Dissertation Fellowship

Ph.D. candidate Steven Anderson, of Greensboro, has received the Provost Dissertation Fellowship from Georgia State University in Atlanta.

The internal fellowship supports doctoral students from across the university as they complete their dissertations.

Anderson is completing his doctoral degree in the Teaching and Learning Music Education program. His dissertation, "Stereotype Management Among Black Doctoral Music Students" investigates how black doctoral music students identify and respond to identity stereotypes throughout their music education matriculation. The dissertation researches how the management of stereotypes affect participation, motivation, and resiliency among black doctoral music students.
