2017 Jan 17

Nathan Cenatus, of Jonesboro, was on the team of students which won first place in the inaugural Healthcare IT Slam hackathon this fall at Georgia State University's Center for Health Information Technology in the university's J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

The eight teams of students worked with health information technology industry mentors to tackle challenges in a rapidly changing industry.

The first place team, "Docheio," sought to develop a way to help combat opioid abuse in the United States, stopping it at the pharmacy level. They developed a prototype to dispense opioid medications integrated with an electronic health record system.

The first place team's full roster included Jennie Huynh, Nathan Cenatus, David Nguyen, Deborah Choi and Sagar Rijal. The team won $2,500.
