2016 Nov 15

Georgia State University School of Public Health student Krishna Kota, of Arlington, presented research on HIV risk factors during the 2016 American Public Health Association (APHA) annual meeting, held Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.

Kota's research applied the theory of gender and power to identify risk factors for HIV among transgender women.

"I've always been interested in HIV because it's behavioral and biological," Kota said.

The American Public Health Association is a national nonprofit working to advance the health of all people and all communities, as well as providing a science-based voice in policy debates.
