Kennedy Doss Awarded Georgia State University Honors College Empowering Excellence Award

2018 May 9

Kennedy Doss, a Public Health major from SNELLVILLE, has been awarded the Empowering Excellence Award.

Established in 2017, this scholarship seeks to recognize high-performing, first-generation students from underrepresented groups who matriculate through the Honors College of Georgia State University. This merit-based scholarship is open to students who have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA for at least two semesters. The founders of the Scholarship, Petrina and James McDaniel, both share a special connection to the University and believe in the importance of lifting and encouraging others to pursue the best in themselves and their educational pursuits. This scholarship seeks to fill a gap by providing financial assistance to cover school-related costs such as tuition, fees, study abroad expenses and course materials. This award is a one-time $1,000 scholarship.
