Diana Snyder First Reciepent of Kirkland-Sattelmeyer Scholarship

Diana Snyder of Suwanee was named the first recipient of the Georgia State University Honors College Kirkland-Sattelmeyer Scholarship.

Established in 2011 by Dr. Robert Sattelmeyer and Dr. Leigh Kirkland, the scholarship was created to provide financial support for students in the Honors College. Dr. Sattelmeyer served as director of the Honors College from 2006-2011, and helped guide the transition to an Honors College. Dr. Leigh Sattelmeyer is a Georgia State M.A. and Ph.D. graduate and taught English here for many years.

Snyder is a junior studying Geosciences with a concentration in Environmental Geology, who hopes to pursue a career in renewable energy. Snyder has taken part in extensive community service including landscaping at Oakland Cemetery, volunteering at the Atlanta Science Festival and Habitat for Humanity.
