Chelsea Ross Garners All-American Honors From VolleyballMag.com

2017 Jun 1

Chelsea Ross of Murfreesboro, a member of the Georgia State University beach volleyball team in Atlanta, was named a Second Team All-American by VolleyballMag.com in late May.

Both members of the team who were named as Second Team All-Americans are Delaney Rohan and Chelsea Ross.

"Chelsea and Delaney started training together in January and immediately found a rhythm in the sand," head coach Beth Van Fleet said. Delaney's calm on-court demeanor combined with her consistency and court vision provided a steady foundation for Chelsea to adapt to the beach game. Chelsea's presence, power and speed enabled the pair to make some incredible plays in each match. As teammates, they showed up to practice with pride and purpose - and pushed our program to improve daily. We are thrilled and honored that their efforts are being recognized by Volleyballmag.com. However, I think that they would be the first to say that their teammates played a large role in the growth that led to this award."

Rohan and Ross were recognized as one of 10 total pairs that earned an All-American award. The Panther duo finished fourth at the USAV Beach Championships after going 24-10 in the No. 1 flight this season.

The senior and graduate transfer earned quality wins against Stetson, FSU, FAU, South Carolina and LSU.
